The Fitz part is a no-brainer. He’s an excellent coach
I think Fitz is a bit overrated. His record in the B1G is bad, over a long period of time. I don’t buy the argument that Northwestern is so impossible (yes it’s a hard job) - when he took over the job they were kind of in the same boat as Wisconsin post Alvarez. Northwestern had won 3 B1G champs in the 10 years prior to Fitz taking the job
Outside of the Covid year, his teams got really bad at the end of his tenure after their elite DC retired. He also has no experience with NIL.
I don’t think Fitz is an awful coach, but I don’t see him as a high ceiling guy. Having a losing record despite getting to play in the B1G West is pretty inexcusable in my book
Supposedly some good lineman have healed up though.
Oklahoma fans said the same about theirs. I saw two bad OLs in that game. Alabama pass rush could be an issue, but I don’t see any other facet of the game we shouldn’t dominate. Outside of Germie their WRs are unreliable, and their run game is non existent. If we can lay the boom on Simpson, it’s game over for them

Yeah, Fitz was given a lot of leeway after Walker's death. Kinda like Lynch, but to a greater extent.
Spread has already moved to -7.
Simple fact IU can score much easier on Tide D as Bama will struggle against Hoosiers. Haynes D in the 2nd half steadily shuts off Alabama air supply. I'm betting IU big.
This is one of those games that, if we are playing well, could get out of hand.
I expect a hard fought one score game similar to OSU. Should be another great one.
@dbmhoosier - If that happens, then IU didn't play well. Indiana should be able to put a lot of points on the board. Bama needs to put up 30pts or they lose and I don't see Bama getting more points than Ohio State and Oregon scored, combined.
I’ve been watching some of the Bama YouTube guys. They all say Bama wins because of SOS and history. Thats all they have to point towards.

That's what I hear. Their 2 best wins were teams they also lost to, Georgia and Oklahoma. Not to mention, the OK win was their 14th game, thats an extra game. ha The rest of the wins were no different than IU beating Iowa and IU did it on the road. Their win vs Vandy and Tenn at home is the tough schedule? Meanwhile IU beat #1, 2 and 21 (none at home) and beat #9 by 53 at home. I don't know how anyone thinks for a second that Bama, or ANY other playoff team had a tougher schedule. Its wild.
I think you might point to the number of 4 and 5 star recruits on the team vs. ours, too.I’ve been watching some of the Bama YouTube guys. They all say Bama wins because of SOS and history. Thats all they have to point towards.
We played three teams this year at or near that level of talent and all those games were close. This one will probably be close, too.
Bama had like 30 rushing yards in 2 games. Blitz Simpson and it's over. IU will beat the spread. Thier 4 games run was impressive, then Mizzou and UT fizzled out.
Typically, the team with less weaknesses will win these games. IU has few, if any, true weaknesses, while Alabama has not been able to run the ball against anyone of consequence. Knowing Alabama is one dimensional allows IU the luxury of sending multiple attackers to the QB. Sure, Simpson may scramble and get a few chunk plays off but overall I think IU's defense will have him scrambling all day. And IU will score some points. I'm finished doubting our Hoosiers . . . IU by 14 or more.

the "bama" fanboys seem to be very confident......overly so
let's hope their players do the same
POTFbama
The little QB from Vandy might have a crisis of confidence after the beating Mendoza is about to apply to the tide
This game will look a lot more like the SEC CCG than the B1G CCG. Bama won’t know what hit them. I watched several of their games this year, and they lack the physicality
Unless Ryan Williams remembers how to catch out of the blue, I can’t see this being close. They don’t have the horses on offense
