Tulane looking down at IU is hilarious.
Tulane looking down at IU is hilarious.
all the SEC fanboys and their 4 & 5*s looking up at us is hilarious
I guess Tulane is in Louisiana!? Had to look that up! Tulane to LSU must be like Ball State to IU!?
That really is remarkable!
To me, that graphic displays how unbelievable this run has been much more than the speed with which Cignetti got IU into contention. Before this year, I never would have predicted this was possible.
......we don't have many, but we do have a 5* coaching staff
and a bunch of guys who know how to compete
I mean, how in the hell are we going to beat Bama, a team with 14 five stars to our 0???? I'd love to see some historic results in games with that kind of disparity.
@hoosieralum07 Not really a comparison at all. Tulane is a pretty outstanding, private academic school (or at least it was when my kids were looking at colleges) in New Orleans. Somewhere between a Butler and ND, compared to IU.
I'd love to see some historic results in games with that kind of disparity.
I doubt you would, because it wouldn't bode well for IU. I think it's even crazier if you total in 4 stars: 64 - 7 4/5 stars!
Honestly, it's hard for me to comprehend how we could possibly compete against that, but then you remember that OR and OSU are similarly talented, and watching that game last night, that was probably one of the most poorly played games I've seen all year. Tons of missed tackles, dropped passes, stupid penalties, terrible special teams and atrocious clock management. Looked like a week 1 game, not 2 of college football's best from the mighty SEC. Maybe we'll have rust and struggle with their athleticism and missing Daley, but I am very confident we will not play that poorly and beat ourselves like those 2 teams did last night. I think IU beats either version of those teams last night by multiple scores.

I'd argue Sarratt, Ponds and Fisher are 5 stars from the portal.
We have a lot of kids I'd consider high four star from the portal as well.
Ratings are cool for fans, but if they don't produce, what good are they?
I wipe my backside with TP with the words Blue Chip Ratio printed on it.
Last year, the teams that played in the opening week shook the rust off, and the teams who had the bye looked rusty. Let's hope that doesn't repeat.I'd love to see some historic results in games with that kind of disparity.

@bradstevens The guaranteed top 4 spots to the 4 conference winners contributed heavily to that. Boise St and AZ St had no business being the 3 and 4 seeds as the #9 and #12 ranked teams. Ohio State had revenge on their minds playing against Oregon after they dropped the ball in Eugene. Penn State was the #4 team, but the 6-seed.
@812jmac Yep, with 1 year of history to the 12 team CFP, there's simply not enough history to draw any meaningful conclusions from. The away team won the first 2 games and I'd imagine that will be a bit of an anomaly after a few more years.
