Spring practice is underway in Bloomington, and the Hoosiers are looking to build upon the success of their historic 2024 season. A large part of this success was due to the talented transfers that Coach Cignetti brought with him from James Madison. Cut to 2025, and the Hoosiers have another talented transfer portal class that is looking to make an immediate impact on the field this fall. Curt Cignetti’s first season in Bloomington resulted in a stunning 11-1 regular season record with the lone loss coming in Columbus against eventual National Champion Ohio State. Indiana made the College Football Playoff and battled Notre Dame before falling in South Bend and ending the season at 11-2. It was a school record for wins, and Curt Cignetti was honored as the National Coach of the Year. As IU begins preparations for the 2025 campaign, there is an unprecedented amount of attention on the program. Hoosier Huddle is gearing up for the spring with individual position group previews. Today, we examine the cornerback room. IU may have lost starter Jamier Johnson, but there are plenty of reasons for optimism as second-team All-American D’Angelo Ponds returns for the Hoosiers.

Coming into the first round of the College Football Playoff, the Indiana offense was averaging 426.4 yards per game and a whopping 41.3 points per game. The Bucket is home, and there is only one way to celebrate: a Waffle House dinner with plenty of Maple Missile Syrup. The Hoosiers got their first win over Purdue since 2019 in emphatic fashion on Saturday, hanging 66 points on the Boilermakers. With this win, Indiana was able to both reclaim The Old Oaken Bucket and add some much-needed style points to their CFP resume. This was in large part thanks to the superb connection between Kurtis Rourke and Elijah Sarratt.
