Nick Sheridan and the Offense Trying Their Best to Ease the Transition of OC Change

The Indiana Hoosiers enter 2020 under their third offensive coordinator in as many years as Nick Sheridan takes over for Kalen DeBoer who is now the head coach at Fresno State. That could spell doom for many programs as too much change in terminology and scheme can set an offense or defense back on the learning curve.

COVID-19 Restrictions Have Given IU's Receivers a Glimpse of What NFL Preparation is LIke

Written by Juliet Gahan

IU’s co-offensive coordinator and wide receiver coach Grant Heard has been pushing his players to train from home and be ready for the fall season.

“I've just been challenging them, if you all want to be NFL guys, NFL guys are not at their facilities this time of year anyway. If you want to start getting yourself into that lifestyle this is where it is.” Heard said. NFL players typically use the spring to train on their own and he wants his players to take these months to get ready like it’s the big time.

2019 Indiana Football Positional Preview: Wide Receivers

2019 Indiana Football Positional Preview: Wide Receivers

Written by Evan McShane (@veryreasonable)

The wide receiver position is one of the deepest and most talented groups Indiana will field in 2019. Led by seniors Donavan Hale and Nick Westbrook, the sky truly is the limit with this year’s Hoosiers’ receiving corps. Of course, not without mention is the addition of Kalen DeBoer as IU’s new offensive coordinator. While Indiana’s alignment and formations may not change much, DeBoer’s desire to throw the deep ball and stretch the defense vertically should add a new dynamic to the Hoosier offense. Behind Hale and Westbrook are a stable of young wide outs ready to step into bigger roles. Whoever wins the quarterback battle will have plenty of weapons at his disposal.

Spring Practice Day Three Notables

The Hoosiers were back on the practice field on a day that felt more suited for skiing than spring football. Miles Marshall Officially Signs With the Hoosiers

Miles Marshall Officially Signs With the Hoosiers

Written by: TJ Inman (@TJHoosierHuddle)

Miles Marshall, 6’3”, 200 pounds, Lilburn, GA (Parkview), WR, 247 Composite Ranking: 3-star (84.72 rating),

Wide receiver was not a major point of emphasis in this class for the Indiana Hoosiers as they are expected to return a number of good pass-catching weapons but wide receivers coach Grant Heard wanted to add a couple of big targets and he’s done that with Jacolby Hewitt and the most recent signee, Miles Marshall. Marshall is big at 6’3” and athletic and he comes to IU after a terrific and productive senior season for Parkview High School. He reeled in 73 passes for 1,118 yards and 15 touchdowns and helped lead his team to a successful 9-4 season. He fits the mold of the bigger and longer receiver that Heard wants in his position group and his length will be a problem for defenders and an asset for IU quarterbacks. Marshall had offers from Iowa State, Purdue, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Wake Forest and several others.
