We are exactly a month away from Indiana’s first football game of the 2019 season. Fall camp is here and before you know it fans will be heading into Indianapolis’ Lucas Oil Stadium to catch their Hoosiers face the Ball State Cardinals. We double-dip on this Saturday as we look at defensive back A’Shon Riggins and running back Kristian Pechac.

After running over 100 snaps in their scrimmage on Saturday, the Hoosiers were back on the field in shoulder pads to start the final third of spring practice. It was also a special day in Bloomington as many former Hoosiers took part in IU’s Pro Day.

The Cream and Crimson game is less than two months away! That means it is time for Hoosier Huddle’s spring preview coverage to ramp up. The first article in our preview series is on one of the deepest and most talented position groups on the Indiana roster: running back. A stellar sophomore returns after a terrific debut season, a fellow sophomore is back after showing flashes in his freshman season and a pair of highly-anticipated freshmen are joining the backfield. Indiana's 2018 recruiting class took a hit on Monday morning when four-star running back Kristian Pechac decided to de-commit from the football program he announced on Twitter. Pechac has declined interviews and said this on Twitter, "After a lot of consideration I have made the decision to decommit from Indiana University and reopen my recruitment process. Thank you to Coach Allen and the rest of the IU staff for the opportunity to be a Hoosier- Kris Pechac".

It's nice when you don't have to travel far to grab a four-star talent. In fact, Indiana didn't even have to leave the city limits of Bloomington to land one of the best running backs in the Midwest as Bloomington South H.S. product Kristian Pechac decided to stay home and play for the local Big Ten team. Pechac is rated a four-star prospect and the number three running back in the Midwest by Scout.com.
