Indiana University’s football program does not have the greatest history around. I don’t know if anyone can dispute that. However, as the world now knows, 2024 was different. The Hoosiers were dominant! The Hoosiers put together their best season in program history behind the incredible Curt Cignetti at the helm! Beyond all the accolades and limelight, which are all immensely deserved by the way, this historic turnaround will only continue to be a turnaround if consistency develops year after year. Spring Football 2025 – Tight End Preview, Depth Chart and Superlatives

2024 was a milestone and memorable season for the Indiana Hoosiers. Curt Cignetti’s first season in Bloomington resulted in a stunning 11-1 regular season record with the lone loss coming in Columbus against eventual National Champion Ohio State. Indiana made the College Football Playoff and battled Notre Dame before falling in South Bend and ending the season at 11-2. It was a school-record for wins and Curt Cignetti was honored as the National Coach of the Year. As IU begins preparations for the 2025 campaign, there is an unprecedented amount of attention on the program. Hoosier Huddle is gearing up for the spring with individual position group previews. Today, we examine the tight end room. IU lost Zach Horton, but there are plenty of reasons for optimism after the Hoosier tight ends had 4 touchdowns and 228 receiving yards in 2024.

IU Spring Football 2025 – Quarterback Preview, Depth Chart and Superlatives

The 2024 Hoosiers benefited greatly from tremendous quarterback play. Kurtis Rourke came in as a transfer from Ohio and put together an All-Big Ten caliber year and led IU to a program-record 11 wins. Rourke threw for 3,042 yards and 29 touchdown passes to just five interceptions. Rourke is moving on to chase his NFL dreams. The Hoosiers also lost the services of Tayven Jackson who started one game and filled in nicely while Rourke dealt with a thumb injury.

The 2025 NFL Draft is slowly approaching and for the next month, schools around the country are hosting pro days for athletes to showcase their skills to NFL scouts for the chance of making the roster of an NFL team. On Tuesday, Indiana was the first Power Four school to have their pro day in 2025. After a tremendous season under first year head coach Curt Cignetti, the Hoosiers had a lot of eyes on them. 2024 was a historic campaign for the Indiana Hoosiers. IU was 11-2 and made the College Football Playoff, ultimately losing to Notre Dame in South Bend. A large portion of the success in year number one of the Curt Cignetti era could be attributed to very successful additions from the transfer portal. Kurtis Rourke, Elijah Sarratt, Myles Price, Zach Horton, Ke’Shawn Williams and Trey Wedig stood out on offense while guys like Mikail Kamara, CJ West, Jaylin Walker and Aiden Fisher were outstanding on defense. A good chunk of the first-year transfers came from James Madison and helped instill the culture Curt Cignetti and his staff were going for. Having that prior relationship clearly helped with talent evaluation.
