Hoosier Nation is looking for a reason to jump on the bandwagon of the IU Football program. They got reason number one when Kevin Wilson and Crew went out and upset Penn State last week. It was the first time in program history that they beat the Nittany Lions, and the first time in current students lifetimes that the Hoosiers took down one of the blue bloods of the Big Ten.

Can the Hoosiers do it again? It will be tough sledding against the lock down defense of Michigan State. Incase you have not been watching the Spartans with bated breathe throughout 2013, we are here to give you some Spark Notes on Sparty. The experts out in Vegas say that Sparty will win by double digits...what do you think?

It’s Spittoon Week Hoosier fans! Yes, that’s a thing now.  Hoosier Nation it is time to embrace the Battle for the Old Brass Spittoon.  This weekend the Hoosier offense will face its toughest test yet when they line up against the vaunted Spartan defense in East Lansing.  Indiana had a big first half last year against Michigan State, putting up 27 points, however they were shutout in the second half.  As we settle into this long weekend here are three keys for the Indiana Offense to come away with the Old Brass Spittoon at Spartan Stadium.

Game Wrap and Reaction:  Week 6 Penn State

The Hoosiers’ 0-16 record against Penn State was talked about a lot this week, why it was talked about so much this year as opposed to others? Probably because this was the best shot for a win for Indiana in this series, and boy it felt good to see that streak bite the dust.  While a Hoosier win would not be a total shock, the fact that IU controlled this game for all but two minutes and won by 20 was a complete surprise.

Why They Played: The Hoosiers and Nittany Lions meet yearly in a Leaders Division match-up.  This is the 17th all-time match-up between the two squads and Indiana is 0-16 against the men from Happy Valley.

What The Game Meant:

Penn State marked to end of the Hoosiers’ five game home stand to open the season and Indiana had a shot to go 3-2 in those five games and bolster their bowl hopes that would be all but extinguished with a loss.  Also on the line was Indiana’s 0-16 record against Penn State.  Indiana needs to beat one of the “Blue-Bloods” of the Big Ten and they finally did with a huge program win over Penn State.

That bye week seemed to last forever.  Well, it is finally game week again Hoosier Nation and the Hoosiers dive head first into Big Ten play when they face Penn State Saturday at Memorial Stadium.  The last time out the Hoosier offense looked awful in a 45-28 loss to Missouri.  Hopefully Kevin Wilson and his staff have worked out whatever kinks there were during the bye week.  The Hoosiers will have to play a great game on offense to come out with their first ever victory over the Nittany Lions.  So let’s get down to the keys to the game for the Hoosier offense.
