Why They Played:  The Hoosiers and the Tigers met as part of a home-and-home series that concludes in Columbia next year.  It was the first time since 2005 that Indiana has faced an SEC foe.  Indiana tried to beef up their schedule in order to boost attendance and increase revenue.

What The Game Meant:

The Hoosiers’ bowl hopes may have rested on winning this game.  Indiana would need at least four wins in conference after this loss.  This was a huge night for the Hoosiers.  There were over 50 recruits in town, it was the prime time game on Big Ten Network, and the IU athletic department made this out to be the game of the century.

    Know Your Opponent: Missouri Tigers

Alright so the Hoosiers got back on track with a big week three win over Bowling Green. Sure the Hoosier "faithful" are not as invested as if they were undefeated heading into this game as many of us had predicted.

No matter though, the lights will bright on Saturday night as Indiana hosts the Missouri Tigers. It is the only Big Ten-SEC regular season matchup for the 2013 season, so conference bragging rights are on the line to some extent.

The Tigers are undefeated, but they have played just two games so far in 2013. This is a team that is very similar to the Hoosiers as they have an explosive offense and a defense that is not very stout. That being said, if the units were drafted before the game the Hoosier offense would go first, while their defense last.

With this being Mizzou's first marquee game of the season, it is unlikely you have had your eyes glued on their play. But don't worry, we will catch you up so that you can out smart all your friends at the bars and tailgates on Saturday night.

Find out everything that you need to know about the Hoosiers' week four opponent, the Missouri Tigers right here.

    One-on-One with Cody Latimer

In Indiana's 42-10 win over Bowling Green last Saturday, junior wide receiver Cody Latimer caught six passes for a career-high 137 yards and a TD. The talented pass catcher was a second-team All-Big Ten performer in 2012 and finished second in the conference in receiving yards per game.

Through three games Indiana has been up and down. Tell those of us who want to believe in the Hoosiers this year, why we should believe…

We were down against Navy and kept fighting. Every game we’re fighting to the end. I notice a big difference. I don’t know if everyone else can see it. We’re playing much harder, our defense is stepping up and our offense is doing a good job of capitalizing when our defense makes stops.

First Quarter Grades: Indiana Hoosiers Defense

While we may be only three games into the season, it also happens to be the quarter mark of the 2013 slate. Isn’t it amazing how much quicker time flies when football is around?! Well, with that unfortunately being the case, we decided it was time to take a look back at the opening trio of games that the Hoosiers have played.

As opposed to doing a boring breakdown of each game, we decided to spice things up a bit and give a first quarter report card to each unit of the team. Yesterday we kicked things off with the offense, but don’t worry, we’re back today grading the defense and tomorrow we will even take a look at special teams and the coaches.

Grades for the Hoosier Offense are after the jump!
