On Thursday afternoon the Hoosier landed the number three kicker in the nation for their 2023 recruiting class in Nicolas Radicic. IU was never the plan for Radicic who had three other official visits that were lined up, none of them were to Bloomington. However, IU special teams coordinator Kasey Teegardin knew what he wanted and pursued Redicic until he got what he wanted, a commitment.

The final installment of the Hoosier Huddle preseason position previews are the special teams. IU brings back most of their starters on these units and add impact players in the positions they lost their starters from 2020. Punter Haydon Whitehead and returner Whop Philyor left to chase their NFL dreams, but the replacements have the talent to fill the gaps. Hoosiers Add Carter Smith to 2022 Class

The Indiana Hoosiers are beginning to build an extremely impressive 2022 recruiting class. Following his official visit, offensive lineman Carter Smith became the seventh commit in the class. The 6’6” offensive tackle prospect from Ohio is a high three-star recruit and considered the 12th best player in the talent-rich state. He is the first offensive lineman in the class and starred at Olentangy Liberty High School in Powell, Ohio and chose the Hoosiers over fellow finalists Northwestern, Tennessee and Virginia. Smith had more than 30 scholarship offers to choose from.
