2016 Signees Most Likely to Shake Up Depth Chart

Now that spring ball has concluded, it is time to shift our focus to the start of the season. While spring ball can’t always tell you much about how your team will look in the fall, spring ball for IU this year did tell us a lot about what the depth chart will likely look like next year. Barring any injuries or unforeseen scheme changes, the top one and two guys are set at almost every position. While it wasn’t one of Coach Wilson’s highest ranked classes, the 2016 class includes some impact players that will challenge for those spots on the depth chart when they step on campus this summer. 2016 National Signing Day Hoosier Profile: Saftey Brandon Drayton

The Indiana coaches have become quite familiar with Largo High School. One year after welcoming Largo High alums Jonathan Crawford and Donavan Hale to Bloomington, the Hoosiers have added Brandon Drayton, a 6’2” safety. Drayton committed to IU on January 27 after deciding to decommit from Nebraska. Drayton is a 3-star recruit that played both offense and defense in high school but the IU coaches see him as a valuable member of the secondary that could excel in DC Tom Allan’s new 4-2-5 system.

BOOM! Brandon Drayton Commits to the Hoosiers

In 2015, the Hoosiers welcomed Largo, Florida natives Jonathan Crawford and Donavan Hale to Bloomington. Those two must be enjoying their time at IU because a former teammate, Brandon Drayton, has decided to join them. According to Matt Weaver of peegs.com, Drayton, a 6’2” safety/wide receiver, became the 15th member of the 2016 recruiting class as he committed to play for Kevin Wilson and new defensive coordinator Tom Allan
