After not having a spring football season last year due to Covid-19, IU is looking forward to having a full offseason conditioning program this spring. Indiana’s spring football season begins March 9th.

Indiana University alumnus and former Indiana football graduate assistant, Aaron Wellman, stepped down from his role as strength and conditioning coach at the New York Giants organization, and right into the same role with the Hoosiers. Wellman’s history with IU begins in 1997 as a graduate assistant, then the assistant strength and conditioning coach. After that, Wellman saw the likes of Ball State, San Diego State, Michigan, and the aforementioned Giants in the NFL.

As first reported by Matt Weaver of Peegs.com, the Indiana Hoosiers will hire Aaron Wellman to fill the hole left by David Ballou at strength and conditioning coach when Ballou left for Alabama. Wellman comes to IU after spending four seasons as the strength coach for the New York Football Giants of the NFL.
