The recruiting dead period is over and the fight to the finish off the 2017 class strong is back underway. According to IU Football recruiting expert Matt Weaver of Peegs.com nine prospects will be in Bloomington this weekend for official visits. Here are the prospects visiting IU over this chilly winter weekend:

1. Jaylond Adams, WR, 247Sports Composite Rank: 3-Star, Undecided

Adams is a 5-foot-10 receiver prospect from Minor H.S. in Adamsville, Alabama. Adams was a successful running back in high school accumulating 2,227 total yards and 34 touchdowns. Recruiting services are projecting him to move to wide receiver at the next level. He is a home run threat who can reach top-speed quickly. According to his HUDL page, Adams runs a 4.4-second 40-yard dash and can bench press 280 lbs. That kind of explosiveness was missing from the IU offense in 2016. He holds offers from nine schools including Minnesota, Rutgers, Iowa State, and Arkansas State. Indiana's primary recruiter for Adams is running backs coach Deland McCullough.

Juwan Burgess, ATH, 247Sports Composite Rank: 3-Star, Southern Cal Commit

Burgess played his high school ball at Plant H.S. in Tampa Florida, the same high school as IU signee Thomas Allen. He has been committed to USC since the beginning of August. He is the 407th best player in the nation according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. Landing a top-500 player would be a huge boost to Indiana. Burgess, at six-foot, has the ability to be a good outside receiver with the ability to go across the middle. He played both ways last fall as he caught 14 passes for 229 yards and four touchdowns and made 63 stops and three interceptions on defense. Burgess can also be a game-breaker on special teams as he returns punts as well. He holds 23 offers including Indiana and will visit Florida next weekend.

3. Harry Crider, OL, 247Sports Composite Rank: 3-Star, Indiana Commit

Crider committed to Indiana in August and led his Columbus East team to an appearance in the 5A State Title game. He will be a welcome addition to the offensive line with his toughness and ability. Crider originally committed to Virginia.

4. Olakunle Fatukasi, LB, 247Sports Composite Rank: 3-Star, Rutgers Commit

Fatukasi is a six-foot-two 210-pound linebacker from Grand Street Campus in New York (the same high school as IU WR Taysir Mack). He  committed to play at Rutgers in June. He is the top linebacker in the state of New York and has the qualities to be a really good Big Ten linebacker. He holds offers from 12 schools including Maryland and Boston College. A commitment from Fatukasi would help reload the linebacker position for Indiana.

5. Tyrese Fryfogle, WR, 247Sports Composite Rank: Unranked, Undecided

Fryfogle is a bigger receiver at six-foot-three and 210 pounds. IU's new receiver coach Grant Heard had been recruiting the George County H.S. prospect while he was at Ole Miss and now is trying to bring him to Bloomington. Fryfogle has three offers: Indiana, Idaho, and Ole Miss. He had a terrific senior season hauling in 89 catches for 1,430 yards and 13 touchdowns.

6. Peyton Hendershot, TE, 247 Sports Composite Rank: 3-Star, IU Commit

The big tight end out of Lizton, Indiana has become a priority again as the Hoosiers shuffled their staff. Hendershot originally committed to James Patton and the Hoosiers in July, but is now talking official visits to Big Ten Foes Penn State and Purdue over the next two weeks. Hendershot is a playmaking tight end at six-foot-four and would be a huge help at the position in the coming years.

7. Caleb Jones, OL, 247Sports Composite Rank: 3-Star, Indiana Commit

The big man out of Lawrence North (Indianapolis) committed to IU in August and is a nice piece for offensive line depth over the next few years. Jones has nine offers including ones from Cincinnati, Illinois, and Purdue.

8. Raheem Layne, CB, 247Sports Composite Rank: 3-Star, Minnesota Commit

Layne committed to Minnesota in November before all of the staff changes. The Hoosiers offered Layne on December 10th and he holds offers from eight schools including Iowa, Vanderbilt, East Carolina, and Florida International. The six-foot corner played his high school ball at Sebastian River in Sebastian, Florida. Indiana is in the market for a corner after losing a pledge from Quran Hafiz earlier this month.

9. Whop Philyor, WR, 247Sports Composite Rank: 3-Star, Undecided

Another Plant H.S. player, Philyor is a dynamic playmaker on offense as he caught 91 passes for 1,282 yards and 18 touchdowns. He also had an impact on the ground with 201 yards and two more touchdowns. He recorded 38 tackles and had 20 passes defensed on the other side of the ball. According to his HUDL page he runs a sub-4.4 40-yard dash. He has 10 total offers including Arizona, Louisville, and Syracuse.
