Four Indiana football players earned Big Ten Distinguished Scholar honors on Thursday. Thomas Allen, Harry Crider, Ricky Tamis and Trey Walker all were listed among the 2,132 recipients.

Former Indiana offensive lineman Harry Crider has signed an undrafted free agent deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. Crider played in 35 games with the Hoosiers and played both center and guard and was an honorable mention All-Big Ten selection.

The Indiana football program held their annual awards banquet on Thursday night to commemorate the 2020 season in which the Hoosiers finished 12th in the AP Poll with a record of 6-2. Tom Allen gave out 19 awards to 26 different players. The ceremony was also highlighted by the inaugural Chris Beaty Award, an award given in honor of Chris Beaty, a former Hoosier football player who walked on to the team and was killed last summer trying to thwart a robbery. The Indiana Hoosiers will be looking for a new center in 2021 as Harry Crider, who started the entire 2020 season at the position has declared for the 2021 NFL Draft. Crider was a senior and had the option to return if he wanted to. He announced his decision on Twitter on Sunday.

Harry Crider doesn’t have to rack his brain to remember the dark days of Indiana football.
Having grown up about an hour east of Bloomington in Columbus, the Hoosier program was always on his radar. However, the state of the program was much gloomier than it is in present day: little to no fan support, losing seasons, and an outdated, dingy version of Memorial Stadium with just a few rows of fans filling the stadium on game days.

It would be really easy to say the matchup to watch is Indiana’s defense against the explosive Ole Miss offense. However, due to the Rebels having a number of unknown players out, we decided to go into the trenches to look at the matchup between IU’s offensive line and Ole Miss’s defensive line.

Indiana head coach Tom Allen met with the media for his weekly in-season press conference. Below are the notes and quotes from his press conference ahead of Indiana’s season opener on Saturday against Penn State
- Indiana’s game at Rutgers has been scheduled for 3:30pm on Saturday, October 31s and will be televised on BTN.
- Michael Penix, Harry Crider, Marcelino Ball, Micah McFadden and Cam Jones have been named 2020 game captains.
- IU will be wearing an ‘Equity Fist’ on their jerseys and helmets as well as their warmup gear this season as a sign of peace and unity.
- Covid Numbers and Non-Participants will be announced Saturday.

Historically, the offensive line for the Hoosiers have been… hit or miss depending on the season. Some great, some good, some really bad. That’s just how the cookie crumbles. When it comes to 2020’s offensive line, there still remains some questions. Partially due to the ongoing COVID-19 global pandemic, the public hasn’t been able to see exactly what’s going on at fall camp. Usually, the media and therefore the public would have a pretty good idea of what’s going to be the starting lineup. This year is slightly different. Sure, the five, six, seven best offensive linemen are going to get a majority of the minutes. That’s a given.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana senior center Harry Crider earned a spot on the Rimington Trophy Watch List, the Rimington Trophy Committee announced this afternoon. The Rimington Trophy is presented annually to the most outstanding center in college football.
A 2020 William V. Campbell Trophy semifinalist, Crider graduated with a criminal justice degree in Dec. 2019, and is pursuing his master's in criminal justice and public safety. He was also named to the Wuerffel Trophy Watch List in July.
