Miles Marshall Officially Signs With the Hoosiers

Miles Marshall, 6’3”, 200 pounds, Lilburn, GA (Parkview), WR, 247 Composite Ranking: 3-star (84.72 rating),
Wide receiver was not a major point of emphasis in this class for the Indiana Hoosiers as they are expected to return a number of good pass-catching weapons but wide receivers coach Grant Heard wanted to add a couple of big targets and he’s done that with Jacolby Hewitt and the most recent signee, Miles Marshall. Marshall is big at 6’3” and athletic and he comes to IU after a terrific and productive senior season for Parkview High School. He reeled in 73 passes for 1,118 yards and 15 touchdowns and helped lead his team to a successful 9-4 season. He fits the mold of the bigger and longer receiver that Heard wants in his position group and his length will be a problem for defenders and an asset for IU quarterbacks. Marshall had offers from Iowa State, Purdue, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Wake Forest and several others.
I would not expect him to see major snaps as a freshman as the Hoosiers will return Nick Westbrook and Donavan Hale from injury and guys like Taysir Mack, Ty Fryfogle and Whop Philyor will be more comfortable in the offense and ready to heavily contribute. Add in Luke Timian and the possible emergence of other returning weapons and the position will be quite crowded. That being said, it is very possible that his size and well-built frame give him a chance to see the field in 2018 and be a part of the rotation at receiver. Regardless of how much he plays in 2018, Miles Marshall figures to be a big part of the IU passing game during his time in Bloomington.
