Elijah Rodgers Officially Signs With the Hoosiers

Many Hoosier fans are familiar with Rodgers as he is very vocal on social media and on campus when he has visited in trying to recruit other players to come to Bloomington. His personality is contagious and he helps make it easy to root for him. He is very laid back and told me he is always singing and keeping things loose. His confidence is another huge key for him going forward. He also adds great size at the position and is quick enough to keep up with receivers. He has great movement in his hips and good recovery speed. He made it official pretty early that he wanted to become part of the #breakthrough movement as he committed at the beginning of April. He held offers from a few schools including Purdue, BYU, Cindy & Georgia Tech and a couple other offers. Rodgers versatility also helped make him a power 5 prospect as he was Blacksburg QB as well this year. He led them to a record of 7-6 (4-0). His team started the year off with 5 straight losses before running off 7 in a row before ending the season with a L to Cheraw. Coach Shelby prioritized Rodgers early and sealed the deal early on, which helped them focus on other prospects to help fill the spots in the secondary. There is going to be plenty of playing time open next season and regardless of if Rodgers gets some time or not, I expect him to take on a leadership role early on.
