Troy linebacker Jayden McDonald is returning to the Big Ten, this time with the Indiana Hoosiers. McDonald started his college career at Iowa prior to transferring to Troy where he led the Trojans in tackles in 2023.
In four seasons with the Trojans McDonald played in 35 games, missing most of the 2022 season with an injury. He bounced back in 2023 as he led the team with 75 tackles including 9.5 for a loss. The 6’, 227 pound linebacker has the bulk to play in the Big Ten.
Coming out of high school McDonald was a three-star recruit and garnered plenty of accolades out of Georgia. He was Named Georgia High School Defensive Player of the Year by Georgia High School Coaches Association while earning first team all-state, all-region and all-county honors as a senior.
