Just a couple days from starting a month-long recruiting dead period the Indiana Hoosiers have gained a verbal commitment from offensive lineman Michael Cartwright, a three-star prospect from Hialeig, Florida. Cartwright is a 6'6" 285-pound offensive tackle prospect who holds offers from Power Five schools Nebraska and Pittsburgh as well as 14 other schools.

Cartwright is the third offensive line commitment for the Hoosiers in the 2019 class. He brings the length that OL coach Darren Hiller wants at the tackle position. He's quick off the ball and powerful enough to punish defenders down field.

Cartwright announced his commitment on Twitter saying Sunday afternoon saying:

”First of all I wanna thank God for everything he has done for me because without him none of this would have been possible. (I’d) like to thank my mom and dad for easing and grooming me into the person I am today and my grandparents, aunts, uncles and everyone who help(ed) along the way.  (I’d) like to thank Miss A and the Champagnat Family for taking me in and show(ing) me love and affection the last 3 years. I also wanna thank Coach Dennis, Coach Stubbs, Coach Guardo, Coach Hector and Coach danny for always believing in me. So today on July 29th 2018 I am really really proud to say I’m committing 1000% to THE Indiana University! Go Hoosiers! LEO”

Cartwright's commitment gives the Hoosiers 13 commitments in the 2019 class which is ranked 11th in the Big Ten and 46th in the country.
