Last Saturday Indiana singee kicker Nico Radicic took part in the prestigious All-American Bowl that was broadcast on NBC. While his West team lost 55-17, Radicic played well and had an excellent week of practices leading up to the game

Radicic connected on a 25-yard field goal and two extra points. Despite the loss, Radicic enjoyed the experience in San Antonio.

“It was amazing. Something that many people can’t say they have experienced. The connections I built with players I’ve never met and the brotherhood I built with some guys there is something I will never forget. It exceeded all of my expectations.” Radicic told Hoosier Huddle.

During his six days in San Antonio Radicic got to practice and play with some of the nation’s top recruits.

“I had a great week of practice that led up to the game. We kicked about 10 live operation field goals with the team each day over six practices and I only missed two all week with one of them just hitting the upright. The field goal posts getting tighter had no effect on me and if anything that factor just made me better.” Radicic said when asked how he performed.

Sometimes specialists are seen as outsiders on the team and during his experience in San Antonio, he did not feel that way although he may have been a little star struck.

“I was also very pleasantly surprised with how I got accepted right away. As a kicker you get pushed to the side a lot until the big moment of you hitting a game winner comes up. But these guys accepted me right away and made me feel at home. It was intimidating at times when these big name 5 star guys pass by you in the hall and you aren’t sure if you should say anything but them coming up to me made me feel like I was a part of the team and made me want to perform even better.” Radicic said.

Fellow IU singee Jordan Shaw, a defensive back from California, was also participating in the event. Ridicic got to know his future teammate as members of the West Team,

“Man (Jordan Shaw) is just a DAWG.” Radicic exclaimed. “I don’t know much about other positions on the football field when it comes down to the technical part of it, but when I watched him on the field during practice and the game he made a huge impact. From just locking guys up with big names everyone knows about and picking off smart quarterbacks, he has it all. I can’t wait to see him ball out at IU.”

Radicic will join the Hoosiers for the 2023 season with the hopes of winning the battle for the starting place kicking position.
