Early Signing Period 2022 Profile: Tight End Sam West

The early signing period for college football is now open and prospects and transfers are inking letters of intent all over the country. Hoosier Huddle will have profiles on all the football signees as well as an update from head coach Tom Allen.
Greensburg, Indiana native Sam West signed with the Hoosiers on Wednesday morning, providing some relief to the departure of A.J. Barner (Michigan). West is a versatile player who finished his high school career playing quarterback. In addition to playing offense, West was a productive defensive player as well. He made 64 tackles and six tackles for loss as a senior.
West had 12 total offers, including five from Power Five school. He is listed at six-foot-five and 205 pounds. He will be enrolling early for spring practice with IU.
