Early Signing Period 2022 Profile: Offensive Lineman Austin Barrett

The early signing period for college football is now open and prospects and transfers are inking letters of intent all over the country. Hoosier Huddle will have profiles on all the football signees as well as an update from head coach Tom Allen.

Austin Barrett is another offensive line prospect that signed with the Hoosiers on Wednesday. He is out of St. Charles East in St. Charles, Illinois. He is a three-star prospect and is listed at six-foot-seven and 275 pounds. Barrett had offers from 18 total schools including nine Power Five programs.

Barrett was selected to the Blue-Grey All-America Bowl and named first-team All-Kane County as a senior. He also lettered in wrestling, which is a great indicator on how physical he will be on the line. Barrett was ranked among the top heavyweight wrestlers national by FloWrestling entering the 2022-23 season. His brother, Dylan, is an offensive lineman at Wisconsin.
