Baker is the top wide receiver prospect in Indiana and he will provide some relief as the Hoosiers will lose Nick Westbrook and Donavan Hale as they both exhausted their eligibility. The Indianapolis native finished off a terrific career with 41 catches for 493 yards and six touchdowns.
Baker committed to Indiana back in June and chose the Hoosiers over Michigan, Purdue and Louisville as well as a handful of other schools.
Baker was a top priority for Allen and the staff as they want to keep the best players in Indiana at home. “They talked to me about how it is important to them to get the best in-state guys to stay in-state and play for them” Baker told Peegs.com.
Baker has a lot of similarities with current IU wide receiver Ty Fryfogle. He can run by people and he can go up and make contested catches. It would not be a surprise to see Baker have an impact as a true freshman in 2020.
