Highlights

Bonds committed to Indiana on the same day as the Hoosiers were announced to play in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl earlier in December. Bonds was a highly coveted prospect by the IU staff, mainly safeties coach Kasey Teegarden.

The three-star Texas prospect is a heck of an athlete and chose the Hoosiers over Kansas as well as 24 other schools. He has a nose for the ball, a must in Tom Allen and Kane Wommack’s defense at the safety position. During his senior season at Crowley Bonds made 115 tackles, broke up 11 passes, forced a fumble and recovered two fumbles. He should fit right in with Indiana’s style of play in the secondary.

Bonds was impressed with how genuine the Indiana coaches were and intrigued by their belief in what he can accomplish on and off the field at IU.

Bonds told Peegs.com when he committed that “being able to compete in the Big Ten is so exciting, and it makes me want to just compete more. My work is far from done.”
