Why They Played:  Indiana and Purdue meeting in the annual Battle for the Old Oaken Bucket every year on the last week of the regular season. 

What The Game Meant:

No matter what the two combatants come into the game with a real hatred of each other.  It does not matter if they are 11-0 or 0-11 this rivalry game can make or break the season for one of these teams.  Coming into the 2012 version of the Bucket Game the Hoosiers had already been eliminated from bowl contention, while Purdue need a win to reach the six win mark.  Anytime there is a trophy being played for it has plenty of meaning, especially in an in-state rivalry like this one.

The Hoosiers came into the game needing their first win ever against Penn State in order to keep their bowl hopes alive.  Indiana came into the clash 0 for 15 all-time against Penn State.

Throwback Thursday: Week 11 Wisconsin Badgers

Welcome to the final home edition of our Throwback series as we take a glance at the Hoosiers final game at The Rock in 2012.  The fanfare coming into the game was as high as it has been in the last 20 years in Bloomington.  ESPN2 was in town to televise the game and the game carried postseason implications for both teams, adding to the atmosphere was the forecast that was supposed to be in the 70s.

Why They Played:  The Hoosiers battle the Badgers every year now that they are both part of the Leaders Division. 

What The Game Meant:

Coming into the game the Hoosiers could end the day controlling their own destiny in the Leaders Division if they could pull of an upset of Wisconsin.  This was deemed by some to be the biggest Hoosier football game since 2007 and was a cause for excitement.  Lately the Hoosiers have been blow out in the series by a score of 204 to 41 over the last three seasons and have not been victorious against the Badgers since 2002.

Welcome to our review of the Hoosiers battle against the Iowa Hawkeyes that could let Indiana control its own destiny to the Big Ten Championship Game.  Despite a weather delay of over an hour and temperatures that never got out of the 30s the Hoosiers and Hawkeyes provided a great game in a rare late afternoon start at The Rock.

Why They Played:  The Hoosiers and Hawkeyes met as part of a divisional crossover matchup.  Indiana has had some recent success against the Hawkeyes scoring wins in back-to-back years in 2006 and 2007 while also coming a dropped touchdown pass away from another victory in 2010.  Iowa leads the all-time series 27-42-4.

Welcome to another edition of our throwback series, where today we are going to review the exciting offensive shootout loss to the undefeated Ohio State Buckeyes.  The Hoosiers came into the game riding a three game losing streak and had just lost a heartbreaker to rival Michigan State.  The undefeated Buckeyes a 63-38 thrashing of the 21st ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers on their homecoming.  Indiana came into the game looking to score the upset while Ohio State wanted to continue their dominance over the Hoosiers.

Welcome back to our 2012 throwback series.  This is the fourth installment of our look back at the 2012 Indiana Hoosier football season.  Today we are reviewing the Hoosiers Big Ten ten opener on the road against Northwestern.  This game was the tale of two halves, which would come to be a common theme throughout the 2012 conference slate for Indiana.  The Hoosiers had no answer for the Wildcats' do-everything star, Kain Colter.  The offensive star propelled Northwestern to a 44-29 victory, handing the Hoosiers a loss in their conference opener while dropping them to 2-2 on the year.
