The 2024 Hoosier Huddle Countdown to kickoff continues with 81 days until the start of the Hoosier’s football season! Every day, we take a look at players on the current roster and highlight their roles in the upcoming season. Today we are looking at number 81, wide receiver Brady Simmons.

Hometown: Indianapolis, Indiana (Ben Davis)

Position: Wide Receiver

Year: Redshirt Sophomore

Height/Weight: 6’1”/169 pounds

Simmons came into Indiana’s football program as a walk-on in 2022. Despite not seeing any game action his first season, he earned Co-Offensive Scout Team Player of the Week against Maryland (10/15/22) and Michigan State (11/19/22). He then decided to redshirt his first collegiate season.

As a redshirt freshman, he appeared in five games making his debut against Indiana State (9/8/23). He mostly recorded snaps on special teams and will continue to do so in the upcoming season.

With a lot of depth in Indiana’s wide receiver room, Simmons will have his work cut out for him. With his competitive attitude and drive, Simmons will help not just himself, but the wide receivers around him who are also trying to compete for time on the field. He’s a quick footed and agile athlete who has the ability to make plays if he keeps up the consistency.
