The Hoosier Huddle countdown to kickoff is underway! For the 100 days leading up to kickoff, we at Hoosier Huddle will feature every player from the 2024 roster in anticipation of Indiana’s first game of the season against Florida International University. Today, we will highlight a newcomer who joins the Hoosiers by way of old-fashioned high school recruiting, Austin Leibfried.

Hometown: Mount Horeb, WI
Height: 6’6”
Weight: 275 Pounds
Position: Offensive Line
Austin Leibfried originally pledged his commitment to the Tom Allen staff but when Bob Bostad was retained by the new regime, Leibfried opted to stay loyal to his commitment. He is a classic Bostad recruit – a top 20-ranked offensive lineman from the state of Wisconsin with size that would make any offensive line coach excited. The three-sport athlete in high school was a 3-star prospect in football after leading his high school to three-straight Badger Conference titles. He was also named the Badger Conference Offensive Lineman of the Year as a senior.
Leibfried chose Indiana over offers from Air Force, Coastal Carolina, and several Ivy League schools. His height and frame project him as a tackle at the college level, though for now he will focus on adding strength and learning under more experienced players.
