2021 Countdown to Kickoff: 73 Days (Tim Weaver)

The 2021 Countdown to Kickoff continues as we hammer home the offensive line. Today’s featured Hoosier is offensive lineman Tim Weaver. The Hoosiers open the 2021 season on September 4th when they take on the Iowa Hawkeyes in Iowa City.
Name: Tim Weaver
Hometown: Hellertown, PA
Position: Offensive Line
Year: Redshirt Sophomore
Height/Weight: 6’5”/305 pounds
Weaver joined the program out of Saucon Valley High School where he was a first-team all-state selection and team captain. He redshirted the 2019 season and was a two-time Scout Team Player of the Week.
Last season Weaver played in five games and was an Academic All-Big Ten selection. Weaver had a good spring practice and may be coming into his own. “Guys like Cameron Knight, Joshua Sales Jr., Randy Holtz, and Tim Weaver, and I'm sure there are others, but guys that are younger, developing offensive linemen in our program that we are really excited about.” Indiana offensive coordinator Nick Sheridan said. “We think they have bright futures, but it is a developmental position. You are talking about the biggest, strongest part of the game. You are getting on the line of scrimmage. Not only from a physicality standpoint, but also from a communication and recognition at this level of football it takes time. Those guys are doing a good job.”
Weaver is unlikely to crack the starting lineup, but if he can be in the rotation it will make the Hoosiers offensive line that much deeper.
