Just imagine: Karl Marx saw this coming 160 years ago.@mcm666 who are the executives getting money from if we all don't have jobs? In order to have an economy you need producers and consumers.
For the record I think there would still be plenty of jobs for people and we would all just work less.
lol....I'm not that frightened of a life of abundance and less work. Bring it on, I can handle the endless crab legs and string cheese.
@co-hoosier I was listening to a podcast last week where the person was saying imperfections and mistakes will become more desirable. It would be proof a human performed the task or made the item. I hadn't thought about that, but found it interesting. I did agree with his overall point that there will be a shift back towards more human experiences.
I was running with my sister and her running group this weekend and one of the runners who is a teacher said they're starting to do more writing with pen and paper and things that students can't use AI as a crutch for.
She was also saying that she did a trial lesson plan for Catcher in the Rye with AI and it misquoted a passage from the book.
@unclemark we're fighting about that now. it gets paid through the shipping company. so they can hit "pay now" or "pay on delivery" then we/customers paid it when it gets here or it doesn't get delivered. remember we're a bottom feeder. no idea how large companies handle it
@unclemark I can definitely see how it’ll raise revenue. It’s horrible
some would rather just see the rich pay more than for all Americans to share the burden…
The clunky “depression/econonomic tumult” was my lazy way of saying a downturn in economic production for some reason or a big, quick upheaval of “destructive capitalism.” Basically, anything that leads to a lot of educated people deep in debt being out of work and without hope.
I’m gonna punch back here.
First, “destructive capitalism” is an oxymoron. A vital feature of capitalism is innovation. We innovate out of the destruction. This isn’t to say no capitalist can individually destroy something, that can happen. But as a general economic system, capitalism doesn’t destroy. It can’t.
Second, I think much of the worry about scary AI stuff is programming. In other words, a few people who say AI can take over all the jobs are changing the way we think about AI. That’s programming. (Brainwashing for the rubes)
Third, only humans can innovate and create. Only humans can decide what tasks AI can do next.
Finally, the human brain is the most complex thing in the universe. The biggest problem with AI is the belief that AI is better. That could be a self-fulfilling prophecy.
@bradstevens madness!! I’m in hell Fing with these tariffs at the moment. Cluster fck. Bring on Ai.
sports gambling starts 12/1 here. I’m going to see how many Dems I can slam and how many badges I can gather until then then I’m going to take my adhd talents to sports gambling

some would rather the poor pay more so the rich can get richer and the wealth gap can keep getting bigger.
some vote to make it harder on the poor and than complain about them needing handouts to survive.
@hurryinghoosiers the poor don’t pay anything now. Fed income Taxes. Health insurance. School. Subsidies everywhere. Your mouth moves and your fingers type but there’s no brain supporting anything but the most rudimentary functions

lmao. They still have food expenses, home expenses (if they aren't homeless)...all effected by tariffs and inflation.
You're such an idiot. Do you ever think before you post?
@hurryinghoosiers snap wic no down payment home loans and section 8 rentals.
you really don’t know anything do you? Two healthy adults. Non addicts. Doesn’t take much to be okay.
LOL
Can you even conceive of all the electric impulses your brain processed from the time you chose to read my post to the time you keyboarded “LOL”?
I don’t think you have a clue.
