It wasn’t to be for Vonn….sucks to end that way. Much respect for her to put in the work and effort at her age and health

Surprised to hear that Vonn broke her leg. I assumed her injury would have been related to the ruptured ACL, and while on the same leg, I don't think the two would be related. Or could they? Calling @drjb.

from what I saw she clipped that gate hard, got off balance then airborne.

at that speed and hitting the ground (ice) with skiis twisting your legs all around

I'm surprised that's all she broke regardless of the acl

I remember back in the day skiing an easy podunk slalom course in Colorado, the ruts around the gates are pretty much ice and the snow is anything but soft no matter what they say

I hope she's ok but prob. time to hang it up.

walking and moving around is hard enough when you get old

The human body is not a bunch of component parts working independently.

The ACL probably affects her weight distribution, planting her turns, most of all her mind.

Maybe she would’ve still crashed if she was fully healthy, but it’s hard for me to buy that.

did it affect her mentally?  sure, maybe...

with a rupture (complete tear) there'd be no way she could ski

with a partial/slight tear and no meniscus damage probably the biggest factor would be dealing with pain not stability

would the risk of doing further damage go up?  for sure

seeing that she was even out there in the first place, i'd lean toward her age and go for broke/balls to the wall style being most responsible

it's a dangerous sport. healthy kids half her age have and will continue to flame out racing down that mountain

either way, she was really bucking the odds

I watch curling on one TV while my wife watches ice dancing on another.  Curling is indeed awesome!

Madison Chock and Evan Bates robbed of gold in Ice Dance by some cunt ass French judges. Those judges should know no peace for the rest of their miserable lives.

America’s sweetheart Chloe Kim qualifies first in half pipe looking for the Olympic gold 3-peat.

Mikaela Shiffrin, so hot, so bad at the Olympics.

Curling is by far my favorite olympic sport. But they never show enough of it on TV anymore. I'm just waiting to watch this Lithuanian ice dancing performance that was supposed to be so exceptional.

I used to watch it on a local channel in Bowling Green, Ohio on Saturday mornings.

NBC's primetime coverage skipped the Lithuanians. I'm so bummed. I heard so many great things about that performance, that's why I was staying up to watch.

I can't remember the last time NBC's olympics coverage didn't suck.

The ice dancers got screwed. They were flawless.

Full curling matches have been regularly on the USA network coverage, channel #242 on Directv.  The NBC prime time coverage of curling is sparse.  Usually only showing the top 1-2 shots and the result.  But as others said, Peacock is the best place to go.

Watching USA-Norway in curling now. I gotta say, I can't even root for the Americans in curling anymore. It was fun when Shuster was making it a big deal while I learned it existed, but now it feels like we stole the sport.

Who will you root for next season in college football then?

It's surprising that Mark hasn't brought up the babe factor as a reason to watch Italy:
