this is still the reality. You’re relying on the stock market. The wealthiest 10 percent own 90 percent of all stock market wealth.  The top 1 percent hold half of all stocks and hold more equity value than the bottom 90 percent combined.  People are going to show you reality in two months. You’re in lalaland land. Trump has been a disaster.  Below too

I was talking about the K shaped economy 5 years ago.  Stock market gains from printing money is not the same as stock market gains from companies being more productive.  And you skimmed over the fact that the average person is doing better.  Voters are dumb as f#ck and the GOP is hanging onto the Senate.  Losing some House seats is standard for the party in charge at midterms.

@snarlcakes I dispute the average person is doing better.

https://www.wsj.com/economy/consumers/six-charts-that-explain-how-americans-really-feel-about-the-economy-2243d7da

and the stock market isn’t dispositive of anything. You’re falling for the same fallacy Dems tried to use to pretend things weren’t bad under Biden.  The market looks months. Years ahead. It’s not a reflection of how anyone feels about today. What’s more think of the companies represented.  Global giants. That’s not Main Street or the millions of small businesses that make this country go.

Dispute all you want, but the data says people are better off.  You're falling for the fallacy that's it's the same as Biden because you don't like tariffs.  It's pointless to go back and forth.

If the Democrats win the Senate and House, you're right.  If the GOP hangs onto senate, I'm right.  We will find out in November.

@snarlcakes tariffs. War. Inertia.  Doesn’t matter. Costs are way up and that’s what matters to most voters

Trump is now blaming the price of diesel on Ukraine. Says their targeting of Russian refineries is causing the shortage and "hurting the world." No way the shutdown of Hormuz could be the primary issue.

“This isn’t done by the Middle East. This is done by what’s happening with Russia and Ukraine,” he claimed.

lol....funny how that works.  Trump institutes tariffs and everyone says our trade partners hate us and we're doomed🤣

@bar-down like soccer nobody gives a sh#t about tariffs. Now tell me how it's the worst economy of all time.

Bessent knows what he’s doing. I’m not saying I like it but he’s not guessing

That chart shows something different than what the poster says it does.

I don't disagree with you on the issues.  We just disagree on the degree of them.

@unclemark I’m old school and still carry around a wad of cash. The product of divorces. My Starbucks drink is over $5. If I had a $5 I just left it on the counter. If my daughter wants to stop on the way to school she gets a strawberry drink and a little bacon Gouda sandwich and I get my drink. I just leave a $20.

Somehow randomly my minion likes those pinwheels cookies. Just cookies. Nabisco or  whatever. They’re ten bucks.

shit is nuts

@snarlcakes GOP has big issues in Senate. If voting was today think they would lose everything other than maybe Maine. (Ak, IA,, OH, TX). NC and GA are already lost. And Kansas and Nebraska would be very close. Having to send Vance to Kansas is a troubling omen. But still 2 months away, so things could change.

There are 6 toss ups.  The chances of Democrats winning 5 out of 6 are very slim (statistically speaking).  Not to mention polls have tended to overstate Democrat strength. I like the odds you can get on prediction markets.  I think people are allowing their hate for Trump cloud their judgements.  I think the GOP wins at least TX,IA, and OH. We will see.

@snarlcakes polls have tended to underestimate Trump support, in the past. Not so much for congressional. Remember the red wave of 2022 that never materialized.

I think the GOP is going to have serious turnout issues from a rather apathetic base.

They might have turnout issues, but I think it will be because of the Iran War if it happens.  Trump was out of office in 2022 and most people assumed he was done with politics, which was one of the reasons turnout was down.  Whether you like or not, he drives votes and he is currently the President and campaigning.  I think the 2 midterms are different.

The GOP without Trump/MAGA really is a minority party that can't motivate voters.   @bar-down is correct on that.

Pubs are scared shitless about Texas because of Crooked Kenny.  Fuck, his own staffers turned him in to the FBI and his own party impeached him.

TX at this point is 50-50 or leaning Dem.

@big-ryan lol....running a closet gay guy in Texas wasn't the best idea for liberals if you wanted to win.  I'll take Paxon.  You can take Talarico.
