I remember the first time I ever heard of the guy was when he competed and won in the America’s Cup. Pretty sure that was a 60 Minutes segment and during the race coverage. He bought the Braves and Hawks and who wouldn’t want to be a pro sports owner? Of course he started CNN and who didn’t watch their coverage of the first Gulf War? Amazing guy and now he’s dead.

Turner put up the dough to produce Gettysburg , the best civil war movie made. The soundtrack is terrific too. He took a risk , he wanted to make a statement. I have the DVD and watch it about once a year. I’ll remember him for that.
