@snarlcakes one downturn?
5 year total return, as of today...
BTC 77.2%
QQQ 94.4%
SP500 111.3%
Huge laggard of return with 3x+ the volatility, a good investment it does not make.

True, but if you back that up a year to 2020:
Bitcoin is up 10x
S/P500 2.3x
QQQ 3.4x
Bitcoin was actually the fastest horse when we decided to helicopter money from the sky. Also, Bitcoin has had multiple boom, bust cycles. They tend to last 4ish years. If the cycle low is in, I think it's extremely bullish for the asset. The chart drawers say the cycle low is going to happen in the Q4 for whatever that is worth.
@unclemark absolutely but policies. That’s what touches all of our lives. The only group with dumber policies than Trump are the democrats
I haven't seen this mentioned, but Trump says there will be a stipulation on the $5K: it has to be spent in the USA.
I know it's probably a moot question because these checks aren't getting sent, but how would it be proven where these checks were spent? Are they going to monitor international travel and expenditures, check your recent spending since the check was cashed and make a determination reconciling that?
"Uncle Mark is currently in Nova Scotia, but he's only spent $2,537 on goods and services in America since he cashed his bribe check. Go take the rest of the $2,463 out of his ass!"

There'd be no way to monitor spending.
It's a bullshit proposal. Even some prominent Pubs (DeSantis, for example) are slamming it. The National Review characterized it as embracing socialism and bribery.
The party in power always has uphill sledding in midterm elections. Trump, single-handedly, has made things exponentially worse for Republican candidates this fall. We'll see many R candidates trying to create distance.

Agree, it's all BS.
I just saw a guy on facebook offer a deal to people. Anyone willing to give him a $1,000 now he'll sign his $5,000 check over to when it arrives. I'll need to check back to see if anyone has taken him up on his offer.
So funny. Nobody believes the 5k check thing. Democrats are so confused and make a mountain out of a molehill so they can complain and push their we hate Trump platform. They have nothing else unless you want govt. to be in control of everything. Trump is moron. He should of stated he will use the Voter ID or registrations to make sure anyone registered as a Democrat will be omitted from receiving those checks that nobody is going to get anyway.

I mentioned this in the other thread, I had misheard from my wife that what you say here WAS what he was propsing.
The problem with that is that this proposal is already on extremely shaky ground legality-wise. Making it party dependent would ABSOLUTELY be illegal.
But you're right, these checks are never going to happen anyways, so it wouldn't have made a difference.

Trump continues to cement his legacy as Nostradumbass.

I have enjoyed this. It was never going to happen and I got to read a bunch of Democrats decry government spending and buying votes, which is their entire platform.
