Honestly, Grant’s Memoirs is one of my least favorite reads ever. 200 pages of nonsense before you even get to the Civil War. Would not recommend.

I've spent my entire life with nothing but huge group of friends and family made up of Republicans. I'm talking Republicans going back to the 50s and Ike, Young Republicans in college, etc, generation after generation...None of these people ever left reliably and religiously voting for Republicans. You might as well have announced you loved communism if you claimed to vote for a Democrat.
