@carramrod first if they played high school they were already weeded out. the great players come from europe and south america. it's really no contest. with baseball youre dealing with a group of whites who couldn't make the football team from a tiny pool of athletes in a small part of the country vs the desire of every kid in the world to play for barcelona. it's why places like the dominican so quickly replace american baseball players. there's just not much to compete against. just a couple hundred thousand rednecks really. blacks don't care about baseball. whites are playing everything else

And it's a movie. No one is mandated to go watch it. I honestly don't know why people are so threatened by it.
I'll hazard a guess. Many months ago, before we really knew many details about the movie, some right wing influencers online started spreading fake stories about it (Elliot Page is Achilles!) in order to propel a narrative that Nolan had gone woke, and was using the film as a way to push various left ideologies. The folks who fell for that are now committed, so they feel the need to continue to justify their criticisms. It's easier for them than simply admitting they got duped and overreacted.

@goat i won the city championship! we had two kids that were fantastic pitchers. both went on to play d1 football as qbs. the rest of us did absolutely nothing and road their arms to a championship lol. they could have replaced the rest of us with literally anyone

Take a look at all those watered down leagues you mention. Premier, La Liga, Bundesliga.
All with a higher proportion of European players than MLB has American players.
It’s a European sport, heavily insulated. MLB is the global game.
