Seems like Iran (or is it really Israel?) is widening the fault lines in the MAGA movement. Tucker Carlson saying he thinks he's about to be charged with a crime is probably what I would normally lead with, but much more entertaining is Megyn Kelly explaining exactly why she said Mark Levin has a micropenis:

I fear that MK has become more conspiratorial in recent months. Or at least is failing to criticize the conspiratorial in the way she would if it was coming from someone on the left. She used to be pretty solid.
Levin is a raving lunatic and a single issue Israel guy. Always has been. Not sure anyone actually watches him.
Tucker is the most talented of the right wing talking heads, endlessly entertaining. He can sit there and give you an hour and a half solo, no notes straight to camera and have you hanging on every word. But understand you're getting performance art and not really journalism or even editorial.
I think Candace Owens might seriously be out of her mind, I used to think she was performance art like Tucker but I doubt that since she launched a 10 part series on how Erika Kirk hatched a plot to have her husband assassinated. She's popular in the same way Alex Jones is popular.
Ben Shapiro is the most solid of the bunch, hasn't really shifted his principles much in two decades. And yes he is ardently pro-Israel but he does always couch his arguments in America's interests. I understand his frustration in seeing a lot of his former friends engage in nutbaggery whether genuine or not.
In summation, I'm going to start consuming more National Review. This is all too much for me and most of them are shamelessly farming for clicks in my estimation. And who knew Charlie Kirk was the only one keeping this train of misfits on the tracks.

Hope is not optimism, which expects things to turn out well, but something rooted in the conviction that there is good worth working for. - Seamus Heaney, Irish poet and likely Hoosier basketball fan.

The problem with writing Tucker as just an entertainer and what he says as performance art is that there are tons of listeners that take whatever says as fact.
It reminds me of when Rush Limbaugh was confronted about lying and he said he was just an entertainer. . That is just as much an issue as bias in legacy media that is being discussed in the other thread IMHO.
Ive thought Tucker was an air head for years. He used to interview, on live TV, conspicuous liberals. They would frequently bring him to his knees and he never got it, responding always with his forced inappropriate laugh. I couldn’t care less about any fueding pundits. Said fueds are by no means evidence of a civil war.
FWIW, I think Levin is pretty good on those occasions when he writes or talks about constitutional history. He is by no means a one-dimensional Israeli guy. But yeah, his rants appear to be an act. I think he even acknowledges that.

They're a symptom of it. The "civil war" revolves around the question: "Where does the MAGA movement go post-Trump, and who makes that decision?" That's what all these people are really doing. Jockeying for the position they want to be in when the post-Trump world starts.

A good friend will bail you out of jail, but your best friend will be sitting next to you in the cell saying "that was f***ing awesome"
These people are all awful carnival barkers. Terrible people.
@goat I don’t think any pundit has the chops to decide MAGA’s future. If they do, it won’t be Kelly or Levin. They spend all their time behind a microphone instead of out and about like Kirk did. The GOP. nominee will probably use different slogan anyway.

I'm not predicting their success. I'm describing their motivation. It's well known, for example, that Tucker, at least, sees himself as a sort of vanguard of the new right. Maybe he'll run for president some day. Maybe he'll be an adviser and the power behind the throne. Doesn't really matter how. But he absolutely aspires to be the guy who drives the movement.
I see this less as a MAGA civil war and more as preparation/positioning for what comes next for the Republican Party. The smallish number of Never Trumpers notwithstanding, the party largely supported Trump warts and all. Heading into what looks to be a bloodbath in the midterms followed by a lame duck presidency in the final 2 years, more and more you'll see movers within the party carving out their niche and creating cover for themselves moving forward in 2026 and positioning themselves as alternatives in 27/28.
We're all fecked regardless. Politics is gross.

Passes my back ground checks !
If men were any more stupid, we would have breed for the extinction of women. Proof yet again that WE are the best thing they have going for them.
You've made it clear you hate the idea of a MAGA Civil War, which the signs have been clear is likely, and probably already started. Why you care about that fight, I don't know. You didn't give a crap that there was, and still is, a Civil War between MAGA and traditional Republicans. You took the wrong side on that one.Ive thought Tucker was an air head for years. Sad that it only takes one, four year, effective admin to make the rats that we normally elect, realize that they are all exposed for being totally unqualified carpetbaggers!
