ust because the FEC found no grounds for further investigation doesn't mean there wasn't ethical turpitude that should make everyone's skin crawl. It's disturbing that anyone should be allowed to steal campaign money to self-enhance, to say the least
This is an egregious example, but this is why no serious campaign finance reform is ever going to happen. Our elected officials would look very, very different on both sides of the aisle if you couldn't get rich by serving in office. Imagine if actual governance was everyone's altruistic reasoning for running for office.
Weird that you are always showing up to criticize Trump but have never cared to do the same when it's one of your loony lefties.
Mental pygmies like that, who make up an outsized portion of leftists at large, view the "Trump Card" as an actual trump card. Much like the race card, it's nothing more than a superficial, throwaway retort used in lieu of actually having to face hard truths.
A good friend will bail you out of jail, but your best friend will be sitting next to you in the cell saying "that was f***ing awesome"
@ohio-guy Cori bush of the squad was doing the same. She really only wanted the job to get the money. It’s kind of a red flag when these poor people run. I don’t know how you fix that.
poor people are too tempted to do what the squad does and divert funds for personal gain.
then the rich ones throw business to their cronies. Do shit to favor their businesses.
then you have AOC to Grassley to Mitch to Biden who just want to do this for life. Never get a real job.
in terms of people I really do believe we’d be better off with sortition and term limits. 8 years.

I'm in favor of this. It should be like it was when the country was founded. You serve as an elected official and then go back to your job as a lawyer, farmer, etc. that you had before you served.

It's sad that our society has reached a point where we can't self-regulate, even when those in power are corrupt. Relying upon those in power to police themselves is a losing cause.
There's going to have to be a new Godwin's Law created. Everything is Trump's fault on Reddit. It's disturbing. I'm on an Indianapolis subreddit and local decisions are considered in light of Trump.Weird that you are always showing up to criticize Trump but have never cared to do the same when it's one of your loony lefties.

We're so cooked in this country. Don't worry the mouthbreathers on the right do it too. Our politics are controlled by a handful of religious nutjobs on one side and art school rejects on the other. While the regular folks just want to have a job, a bit fewer potholes, and the ability to retire some day.
@larsiu the problem is larger imo. the regular folks are becoming dumber and dumber. i read an article last night about what AI is doing to our brains. math scores plummeting. people can't write. i'm an excellent writer. i have three degrees. i now find myself on emails hitting the AI suggestions and i'll be damned if they don't sound better. dumb and lazy
funny one. yesterday my daughter came down in a harvard hoodie. i dropped her off at school and had a good chuckle thinking of her teachers having to stare at her in that for 8 hours lol
It's like when my daughter applied to Northwestern. 6% acceptance rate. I guess you gotta risk it for the biscuit but she's at Purdue and doing fine thank you very much.@larsiu the problem is larger imo. the regular folks are becoming dumber and dumber. i read an article last night about what AI is doing to our brains. math scores plummeting. people can't write. i'm an excellent writer. i have three degrees. i now find myself on emails hitting the AI suggestions and i'll be damned if they don't sound better. dumb and lazy

The regular folks have always been dumb. True throughout history.the regular folks are becoming dumber and dumber.
@larsiu yeah she's doing very well!!! we're in a sweet spot at the moment somewhere between mizzou and mo state. i can just see her sitting htere. nails on point. make up how she wants it. bratz eyelashes. permit in her pocket. her harvard hoodie on. little bitch doesn't give a fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk and that poor teacher looking at that whole scene with her retirement date tatted onto her wrist
I have a countdown clock but it's in dollars not years. However, based on current saving and assuming I don't double my income in the next five years and assuming 6% growth and no AI bubble/apocalypse -that poor teacher looking at that whole scene with her retirement date tatted onto her wrist
8 years.
Fucking.Eight.More.Years.
Perhaps you can understand how much i want to beat the shit out of my 24-31 year old self. Selfish prick that guy. Fucking asshole.
@larsiu our law school text group was literally just texting about this. sales. the one guy was an employment lawyer and shocked at how much people in sales make. that was the path. medical devices. whatever. sales. 401k profit sharing vacation health insurance blah blah blah.
8 years is doable! i'm going to die at work. thankfully my partners are my friends but still

Not me, I want to tell my 31 year old self to invest that 10k into the Amazon IPO instead of a motorcycle. The dumbass wouldn't have listened though.
