I can't imagine working at 77.  I plan to retire when I'm 50 hopefully.  Want to get around $4M saved and then I'm tapping out.  Life is too short to waste it in an office.

If I could be retired now, I would be. I MIGHT be able to retire around 60. Health insurance will be the big issue for retiring before 65 though.

You’re taking shots at him for being gay.  Own it…

Saying someone is gay is not a "shot" in any way. Nothing wrong with being born that way, at all.  Period. Just wait though, seeing the MAGA bigots squirm will be funny.

Shit happens when you get old

True Dat!

Hello brother...

Has it been 16 years since you guys hauled me up to Chicago to pick up my Vette?

Is brother still kicking?

howdy cuz! good to hear from you.

16 feels like 30!

Zebra is still stubborn and doing well. Runs the Eagles lodge! His kids are good - oldest in Houston, middle in Colorado Springs and youngest in Tipton.

me and the bride are pulling Mimi and Popa duties to our granddaughter as my daughter rebuilds as a single mom. Son is drifting as a late 20’s white male with half a degree. Amiable. Head full of e-info. Good heart. The Fighting Cignetti’s gave us all a bunch of joy.

hope your family is well and the Vette has some miles on it!

Back to the thread...  thoughts and prayers to the entire gay community on their loss. Lindsay kept a great many young men gainfully employed.  Allegedly. Now I guess they are free of their non disclosure agreements?

Tell us all again about what a decent person you are.

Yeah, probably not my best post. It's usually not wise to do much posting from a hospital bed.  My appendix has decided to retire early.

So he knows he's probably having a heart attack but instead of calling 911 he calls a colleague.  Why?  Doesn't make sense.

Only way that happened is if you had peritonitis…but your aversion to the truth leads one to  believe you, once again, aren’t being truthful

Now you're the medical expert?

Facts for you: a new way of dealing with appendicitis (if it doesn’t appear by CT scan to be about to rupture) is to give you enough iv antibiotics to get rid of all the pain and inflammation, then go back weeks later and take it out, since it often will later flare up. I guess with no inflammation the surgery and recovery are both simpler and faster. I did the hard part, the hospital stay to get the iv antibiotics for 4 days.

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8177914/

Google AI: For uncomplicated appendicitis, antibiotics can successfully treat the infection without surgery in about 70% of cases. Treatment typically requires an initial in-hospital stay for intravenous (IV) antibiotics for at least 24 hours, followed by a 7- to 10-day course of oral antibiotics. However, about 30% of patients treated with antibiotics experience recurring appendicitis within the first year and require surgery. Furthermore, non-operative management is not recommended if imaging reveals a hardened piece of stool blocking the appendix (appendicolith), if there is a ruptured appendix, or if an abscess is present

My timeline

day 1: severe nausea

days 2&3: increasingly localised abdominal pain and nausea

day 4: saw PCP, got CT scan, told to go immediately to the nearest hospital with appendicitis, got more imaging, reviewed results with surgeon, who decides not to operate but to admit me and give iv antibiotics, since I had waited so long and the inflammation extended beyond the appendix. He'd prefer to calm it down and not have to do more extensive surgery. Admitted and placed on iv antibiotics.

day 5: iv antibiotics all day as in-patient. Still pain.  If it doesn't go away, we'll operate.

day 6: iv antibiotics all day as in-patient. Pain subsides.  If it stays that way after eating solid food for the first time in a week, we might be on the right track.

day 7: solid foods, more iv antibiotics, still no pain.  Go home!  Take oral antibiotics.

Day 8: today.

Any questions, oh medical wizard and arbiter of all truth?
