Our irrational, erratic President without a semblance of economic sense in his head.
lol. Are you talking about the sane guy you claimed made billions off of being president? Sounds like there is a place for you on Carney’s staff.
Stick to the subject. This is about the economics of international trade, and the President is clueless about that. This unnecessary conflict with our longtime ally and close trading partner Canada, along with His tariffs without rational justification and purpose are ample proof of that.
His personal enrichment via unprecedented Presidential corruption and grift is a different subject, and as you point note, he's very good at that. That it apparently doesn't bother you really bothers me. Don't you expect our President to be honorable and not corrupt or do you give a one-time pass to Trump?
Nope. The irreconcilable conflict happened August 21. Before that, the parties were negotiating points of disagreement which were largely resolved.
This is about the economics of international trade, and the President is clueless about that.
There is plenty of evidence to support Trumps claim of increased foreign investment here. Europe being an economic train wreck probably is part of the reason, but so is Trump policy. I assume Trump overstates the effects of his policies, like he always has, but he is directionally spot on correct.
@co-hoosier your link said what I said. She was already an advisor on us-canada relations, and she recently got a new role in the PM office. The problem is the connection of "dots" you are trying to force, which is laughable to everyone who has the least understanding of what Canada is.
Perhaps both of you would like to explain how it came to be that an American known partisan Democrat and Trump hater landed in a specificly created job on the personal staff of the Prime Minister of a foreign government if it isn’t to use said foreign government to influence politics and elections in the United States. You don’t have to try hard at all to know this arrangement stinks to high heaven.
Can you imagine the uproar if Trump hired an Israeli political player to work in the west wing?
I could use some poutine about now
Earlier this year, Canadian PM created a new position in his upper management team of COO, Chief Operations Officer. The holder of this position will oversee the day-to-day PM operations and will be in daily contact with the PM.
To fill this position, Carney by-passed millions of Canadians and chose an American. But not just any American. The person hired is a well-established operative of the Democratic Party, has a well- documented history of highly partisan anti-Trump activity, and was a close adviser to many top level Democrats and worked on many pet-Democrat issues and positions.
She was hired In July. A few weeks later, on August 21, trade negotiations between the USA and Canada blew up and Carney said Canada was at war with the U.S. Canada claims lThe U.S. introduced “last minute” terms. The U.S. negotiators say Canada rejected a very good deal.
It doesn’t take much effort to connect these dots. U.S./ Canada relations, as of August 21 are in the shitter, and with a never-Trump American in the inner-circle of the PM’s office, and in constant contact with the PM, it doesn’t take a genius to know the bad blood will last through the midterms.
Not sure how much influence she has or not, but I assume Carney is leveraging the mid-terms for a better deal.
@co-hoosier this is a clown show of a thread, even for you. Why the hell are we in a trade war with Canada in the first place? Only winners are rent seeking govt leeches feeding cash into our corrupt administration.

Sheesh. I try not to be a grammar nazi, but if you want to have people take your tweets seriously, try not to misspell "sweetheart" as "sweat heart".

A very underrated dish.
