@boogie dude I’m sweating and can’t concentrate. What’s wrong? I gleaned in skimming that article is that if your case is pending and you get a new setting you’re fine. If the judge dumps your case you had your day in court and ice is therw to boot you. That’s no different than any crim proceeding and smarter than saying okay we’re dumping your case you’re free to go and ice can now try to expend resources to find you
nbc being it’s nonpartisan self I see too
@mcm666 I understand the argument. As I've said, I think we're going to see more people running and not showing up to these courts when there's a likelihood they'll be picked up after its done.
I'm old enough to remember when we were told we were only going after the worst of the worst, people with records. Yeah, that lasted real long.
Here's another article that's not NBC
https://www.npr.org/2025/06/12/nx-s1-5409403/trump-immigration-courts-arrests
@boogie but if the court says you're out of luck you don't have grounds to stay i don't have a problem with ice standing there to escort them out.
as an aside i would not be handling this like trump has. he did a fantastic job of securing our border. they need to amend the laws/rules/regs for expedited adjudications for those here already with clear elements to be met to get to be a citizen that people with a rudimentary understanding of the language can understand.
then go balls to the wall with resources to address the crim nonconfined docket.
@oneeyedundertaker who exactly FORCES their oppressive culture upon us? Why does being proud of their previous country ( flying flags) mean they hate the US?
It’s an indication that their allegiance lies with their country of origin, not this one & that they identify with that country, not ours. If they are here illegally, it also indicates that they are willing to disregard our laws & are not interested in being a US citizen, just someone he lives here & wants to benefit economically. I prefer to see people living here that would put the interests of our country & citizens before their country of origin.
Flying another countries flag is an indication their allegiance lies elsewhere? Huh?
Why wouldn’t they be flying an American flag?
Youre taking a very small subset of legal immigrants and basically claiming they represent all legal immigrants. That’s like taking the J6 rioters who damaged the people’s property and violently assaulted the Capitol Police and saying they represent the entire MAGA movement.@oneeyedundertaker who exactly FORCES their oppressive culture upon us? On what data are you basing your claim it’s a small subset?

Theoretically immigration could help with the debt issues, but it would require a lot fewer immigrants and they'd need be high earners. We have had a shit ton of immigration the past 50 years and our fiscal situation has only gotten worse. Immigration isn't fixing our debt issues.

Then you might as well say capitalism itself is Ponzi scheme?
What are the forms of government and economic systems that don’t need growing populations?
if you wanna go 100k feet up for a view, to the level of geopolitics, you need a growing population. You need a wide base. You need above-replacement-level bodies to fill your institutions and businesses. Need scientists to develop your tech and soldiers to defend your interests.
Above all, you need a growing young population to embrace new ideas, to more easily adopt new modalities and advanced tech. Young brains who aren’t obsessed with fighting the last stupid war.
Elon and the tech bros got this part right.
Capitalism isn't a Ponzi Scheme and it doesn't require a growing population either. Not sure why you would think that. At some point you do need birth rates to be at replacement levels or we would go extinct. Debt based systems (fiat) and government programs like SS need a growing population or they eventually collapse.
@stollcpa his constl right he recognizes citizens. The millions dems let in aren’t citizens. Yet they can get a license and don’t have to show citizenship to vote. He missed that germane point
@stollcpa totally worthless. today's dems/progressives are totally worthless. offer nothing. just obstacles. you see the guy from the profit is getting involved with bed bath and said they won't open any stores in calif. why would anyone want to do business in calif. if the dems today had their way the entire country would like the worst of san fran. open air drug markets. homeless shooting up on every corner. unvetted immigrants flooding the borders. $75 minimum wage. all electric. criminals not prosecuted for stealing from shopping centers. bad guys bailed out to do it again and again. just pathetic. pete buttiegieg is the perfect totem. just a do nothing talker. pete as president and aoc as vp and the country would be unrecognizable.
people should be proud to be maga. magas make this country go. magas built this country. america is maga. the irony of it is for most of my life magas were hardcore reliable democrats
It's pretty obvious. We've had legal immigrants forever, including our ancestors. They and their children nearly all assimilate and become as American as we are. I know them, I've served and worked with them, they're friends of yours and mine, some are even MAGA. This hysteria about immigrants is off the hook nuts.On what data are you basing your claim it’s a small subset?
You have any data that it's not only a small subset? You don't.
Are the J6 rioters a small subset of MAGA or do they represent all of MAGA?

Why yes, as a matter of fact we know how many rioters were arrested on Jan 6, 1575, with the FBI estimating 2000 participants. So, what kind of data do you have to confirm its a “very small subset” of illegals whose allegiance lies with their country of origin?
....they can get a license and don’t have to show citizenship to vote.
I asked before.... EVIDENCE? SHOW ME WHERE THIS HAS HAPPENED?
crickets
"You can't make someone listen to reason if they aren't willing to think"-- Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451
I don't want a single non-citizen to vote, and I don't want a single citizen be denied the right to vote. The latter is going to happen a lot more, if Trump gets his way and eliminates mail-in voting and early voting. Elderly, disabled, etc.

You’re exhausting, I don’t know one person who wants legal voters off tge voting rolls.I am all for voter ID requirements and have never lived anywhere without strong voter ID laws.
MAGA types want people off the voter rolls who won't vote their preferred way, such as inner city poor, especially non-whites. Dems want them on the voter rolls, obviously.
Both sides go too far in trying to get their preferred outcome.
Dems should focus not on eliminating voter ID but on establishing voter ID policies that can be followed by someone without a driver's license, passport, permanent home address, etc.
There is a constitutional right for citizens to vote, so being exclusionary is a problem. There isn't such a right for things like getting on a plane or buying a bottle of wine.
Yet Republicans have done just that and haven't heard one complaint about it from you or any other maga sheep
Why yes, what? My second sentence was missing the word "not" and was supposed to be, "You have any data that it’s not only a small subset? You don’t." You're pushing a narrative which isn't supported by any data. We're a nation of immigrants and we proudly fly the US flag. I do nearly every day from a 24' flagpole. I'm not flying a British or German flag where my ancestors are from. Why are you against legal immigration, really? Why yes, as a matter of fact we know how many rioters were arrested on Jan 6, 1575, with the FBI estimating 2000 participants. So, what kind of data do you have to confirm its a “very small subset” of illegals whose allegiance lies with their country of origin?
The FBI estimates that 2000 to 2500 of the rioters entered the Capitol building, there were thousands more outside the building, some manning scaffolds while they chanted "HANG MIKE PENCE!" Proud moment for you? It's an embarrassing moment for Republicans and the country.
@shooter lmao how would they get arrested? THEY WOULDN'T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so you're asking to prove something people aren't getting arrested over. they aren't policing. 15 percent of the population. you don't think they're getting licenses? voting? how naïve are you
