Polymarket now has Talarico up in Texas 62-39.  On August 11, it was even money.

Trends.  They're horrible for MAGA.

Remember, the markets are reporting odds, not vote spread. 62/39 is still a very close election.

@snarlcakes my phone is acting hunky but I didn’t see a mention of Democrats, just Americans. Those wanting to end the war includes most Americans. Especially pissed off MAGAs.

Ousting Trump politicians means voting for Dems.

But this is pure truth:

”“America’s national security and the lives of its service members are entrusted to someone who is not only an inveterate liar but is also an insanely avaricious man whose only motivation in life is the accumulation of greater wealth,” IRGC spokesman Hossein Mohebbi said in the regime’s latest attack on Trump.”

”Trump politicians”.  What kind of idiotic & thoughtless label will you give to Dem politicians?

Congrats

I wonder if that will be enough to offset the tacit Russian and Chinese endorsement of Trumplicans.

What’s the distinction between Republicans & Trumplicans?

@oneeyedundertaker can you imagine with what Dems stand for being excited that they win anything.  It’ll just be divided gov which probably inures to the benefit of all but my god.

People so stupid they think it’s the top 1% causing our problems rather than the bottom 10%.  It’s jealousy disguised as righteousness…

@oneeyedundertaker I’ve never in an adult lifetime of following and studying politics seen anything as disgusting as the Dem party.  It goes to show that many people really just choose their team and are loyal to same irrespective of how terrible their policies are for the country.

bottom line is that is illuminating and instructive.  We’ve got 27 and 28 to make as much money as humanly possible.  Just go hard at it

I acknowledged this race is close earlier in the thread.  His lead in the polls, as I mentioned previously, is single digits. I never suggested he was up by 23 points in any poll.

Polymarket odds reflect the probability of a candidate winning, not the exact margin or how close the final vote will be.

As of this evening, the market is currently priced at 65% for Talarico. That means traders believe there's a 65% chance Talarico will win. It doesn't mean that Talarico will win by 65% of the vote.

Republican polling group Trafalgar has Darline Graham clinging to a one-point lead over pediatrician Dr. Annie Andrews in deep-red South Carolina.

I can't imagine this race actually going to Andrews, but Graham doesn't seem very bright.  She whiffed badly last month on a softball question about Taiwan and the South China Sea, conceding that she is "not informed on national security."  But not to worry, she said, because South Carolinians are more "concerned about boys in girls sports." Lol.

I personally totally get where you’re coming from because I find revolting a lot of the things you find revolting.

My sister is a moderate liberal and doesn’t pay much attention to politics. probably typical of most Democrats. So I was thinking about my conversations with her for a little bit compared to what you’re talking about. She really doesn’t think about the extremes of the modern democrat platform the way you do.

Instead her view is let people live their lives. I mean in terms of social policy, not in terms of  Libertarian policy. And I think the majority of independence have similar views on that too. so you’re probably talking about 60% of the American people who socially don’t have this deep abiding fear of the liberal extreme such as abortion in the ninth month and such matters. That’s why people are more likely to vote for Democrats in this election I think.

@hhlurker I think there’s a lot of truth in that. And then you get 9 percent inflation and Monday morning qb. Hey how did that happen.  A murder a block from your house and you say we’ve NEVER had that before. And you look into it. And it’s a bail project release. Cars broken into at a city sports event. And you ask what’s happening?  And you see 25,000 cases have been dismissed. Well who did that. And you see it’s a soros prosecutor.

nothing is a threat to this country like the Dem party. And they’re only getting worse.  We’re now electing terrorist supporting socialists.

our electorate is sadly some combo of uninformed oblivious or plain stupid.  Any of the three can lead to a vote for a Democrat in 2026.  Democrats are the enemy within. An insidious cancer that will destroy the country from cities outward.

One of the absolute stupidest things is thinking socialism is the answer when the United States was doing just fine in the 50s 60s and 70s really without socialism. Just the Democratic Party focusing on the middle class. Instead just gift the working class whites the Republican Party via Trump. Absolute stupidest political move ever in the history of eternity.

I don't think the conservatives of that era agreed with you.

@hhlurker working class whites were dems. Spot on. Dems trading them for trannies and race baiting.  Conversely Trump brought the brilliant maga.  It touched on nostalgia when a working class dad could support a family on just his income and there were jobs that you didn’t have to be a finance bro or a computer geek to make a bunch of money. Crushed Dems with that.  Then crushed old pubs with the promise of no new wars.  Maga appealed to so many.  As it should.

now today we see the execution didn’t work as reflected in costs. Tariffs hurt small businesses and gas is as expensive as shit. That’s exactly what those old Dem voters turned maga did not want!   And now Iran.  Fail.

maga is a good thing. It’s a good party.  It will appeal to enough Americans to win elections. Trump himself blew it.  This is not what people voted for
