The juiced socialist movement shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone. Young people can’t find jobs, and AI is an increasing threat to employment. The middle class is shrinking while the wealthy are making money like never before. Millions of average Joes believe no one is looking out for their financial interests. Trump hasn’t helped that perception with a number of recent comments that suggest he doesn’t care about people of modest means except as seat-fillers at his rallies, and on Election Day.

I’m not arguing that socialism is the answer, but it’s not hard  to understand that this climate creates an opening for politicians like AOC and Mamdani.

I think there's a lot of truth in this portion of your post.  It's why most of these new socialists are from the highly educated class. That's whose ox is getting gored now.

I also think the same type of dynamic explains why Trump became popular and the formation of MAGA in 2016.  Note, Hillary wasn't woke.  The pushback was against the establishment of both parties who had contributed to hollowing out jobs and the middle class for non-college people.

Both of these phenomena, though, might just be large multi-national economic phenomena, and it's quite possible neither political party could solve the issue--then or now.

But I think it's also important to see that today's version of the DSA--the woke version, if you will--did not appear out of nowhere.  This toxic mix of ideologies has been percolating on college campuses for two to three decades. Real academics should have stamped it out in its infancy, but they enabled it or ignored it, and we are all going to pay the price if these people get into true positions of power.  Because unlike the MAGA folks, these people are pretty smart and very dedicated to their philosophy.  They have a roadmap and are going to try to use it.  I'm afraid that DSA'ers will build things into the system that MAGA could not (MAGA is good at tearing things down, not so much as creating new govt. institutions or norms) and it will be too hard to eliminate it.

The saving grace might actually turn out to be two things:

The Supremes (we still have a Constitution and precedent to deal with) and our massive government debt (e.g. we just can't afford it).

My view on sharia courts has definitely evolved.  Up until a couple of years ago, I just considered it be on the same level as binding arbitration. If 2 adults agree to use that process and no laws are broken, then it's nobody's business but theirs.

Today, I don't want that shit anywhere near me or mine. It's a series of steps in the wrong direction as more and more is normalized and injected into state and local government, undermining traditional US law.

I think this is partly true.  The other part is that government is seen as so big, bloated, pervasive and out of touch, that Trump, wielding his MAGA hammer, came to be seen as making government more relevant, responsive and useful.  It’s one thing to say that white males were losing jobs.  Adding to that the DEI bullshit that said those same white male we’re racist deplorables further prepared the field for Trump.

Moreover, these educated kids came out of an environment where  the United States of America was portrayed as an oppressive country, built by slaves and throwing our weight around to further imperialism.  We can’t build a sustainable country/ society with that.

At his next appearance before a joint session of Congress, I’d love to see Trump, instead of a native land acknowledgement, do a U.S. citizen acknowledgement and remind Congress that they occupy nice offices, and travel around the country spewing politics because the average citizen permits it.  The irony is that some of them want to destroy the very structure that permits them to do that.  If they were in Russia, Putin would throw them out of a building or if in Iran  be swinging by the neck at the end of a rope.

These people think they are smart, but in hindsight, you can argue they aren't. They continue to get used and have lost control of their own ideology, which has transitioned from liberal to nonsensical.

Fear mongering at its finest.

You can't force people into a religion no matter how much Christians want to legislate their beliefs into law.  No one can force anyone to follow any specific religion, including Islam.   So that is just bs fear mongering and nothing more

...Trump hasn’t helped that perception with a number of recent comments that suggest he doesn’t care about people of modest means...

it irritates me, though, when CNN, MSNBC, and others play the clip of him saying that the economic pain of Americans is not something that he considers (paraphrasing here, but I'm sure that you have heard the clip).

That remark was in a direct answer to a very specific question regarding how the American economy affects his ongoing negotiations to end the war with Iran.  In other words, is the bad economy affecting your willingness to bail on this war?

It was not a generic question about whether or not he gives a crap about the American economy and how it affects people, or not.

I hate anti-Trump media bias spinning those words as being a gotcha. Of course, Mr. born-at-3rd-base billionaire, with billionaire buddies, and no clue about affordability has said and done other things to show that he is out of touch.  And growingly demented.

But quit with parading that out-of-context clip, media, one which is as bad as the "good people on both sides" spin effort.
