I agree with Ted Cruz

@dbmhoosier all this fighting over Kimmel. Some rich Hollywood ahole. What he knows about politics could fit on a fingernail.
I wish for once we could all get together and just mourn Charlie. A few days without bickering. Hell I’d love to see a Bloomington Turning Point Chapter. In the name of the water cooler
It could be designated the DuBM Chapter.
.
Simply put, if ABC or Nexstar made the Kimmel decision solely based on Kimmel's comments during his monologue and some subsequent refusal on his part to atone for those comments on air then that is their right to do so.
That said, if they came to this decision based on pressure/durress from the Trump Administration and/or the FCC...well that is all kinds of fucked up.
And every conservative on here, even MAGA conservatives, should have the fortitude...no fuck that, the temerity...to call it what it is. And I get it, the left has been in a constant state of apoplectic bed shitting for the better part of a decade about all things Trump and as such our conservative default setting has morphed into defensive overdrive when it comes to criticism. But if the latter actually happened, well it's wrong, they are wrong, he is wrong and we don't even have to reach deep down...we know it too.
Obama called up Disney and had Roseanne fired. We are tired of this. What's good for us is also good for them. It's the only way they will ever learn.
So is it right...or wrong? I'm so confused.

He wasn't cancelled people.

@all4you yourself and with the recent @twenty flare up.
I’ve had my fill of people extolling how principled they are and how they don’t let politics color their view of what is right and wrong.
Come down off the cross both of you. We need the wood. Hand over your objectivity badges while you’re at it. alas the policing you’re attempting to do was not asked for by any of us.

I'm not attempting to police feck all. You can make it about you if you want, but that's a you problem not a me problem.
You say otherwise above, but me saying that I think it's wrong IS me letting my politics color my view of what is right and what it wrong. My conservative politics IS coloring my view of this.
Lash out at me all you want, I'm a big boy and can handle light work such as yourself.
A good friend will bail you out of jail, but your best friend will be sitting next to you in the cell saying "that was f***ing awesome"

Obviously wrong.

@shooter he was right. He didn’t call for an assassination. It’s a shame there isn’t a law to prosecute him for all the blood on that admin’s hands

Two pieces of advice:
If you think you are principled, post in a principled manner. Don’t preface posts by saying how principled you are. Rather douchey.
And the below is some weird moralistic policing behavior. Don’t do it.

Murt... True, he didn't call for an assassination, he just called for a state execution.
Makes it all so cool, right! We are all for the state execution of political opponents, right?

There is one, 2 of my gaming friends cancelled Sunday to work their remembrance ceremony. Both are professors.

This isn't proof that Trump put his thumb on the scales to get Kimmel suspended, but when it was announced that Colbert wasn't being renewed, this is what Trump posted:
"I absolutely love that Colbert got fired," Trump posted to his Truth Social platform on Friday morning. "His talent was even less than his ratings. I hear Jimmy Kimmel is next. Has even less talent than Colbert! Greg Gutfeld is better than all of them combined, including the Moron on NBC who ruined the once-great Tonight Show."
Who knows if Trump was just blowing smoke or if he was in on the idea of the FCC holding the Nexstar merger hostage unless Kimmel was taken off the air. It wouldn't surprise me.
I think Dear Leader would have approved. He also had a Nobel Prize winner , Maria Ressa, from the Philippines, talking about the similarities in what happened with Marcos and the US.

The Biden administration deliberately cost the lives of thousands of people with its actions. This was all deliberate. The border didn't accidentally open itself up. The Afghanistan debacle didn't happen by itself.
