Knight showed you can be a good coach but an imbecile when it comes to politics. I don't understand why people think just because someone is popular or good at something, it makes their opinions on other stuff more valid. But endorsements from celebrities obviously helps because some people idolize famous people.

Really? Leaving aside popularity (which I’d agree has no bearing) someone being good at something will at least perk my ears. It means they’ve invested time and energy perfecting a craft or process which produces results. I will generally listen to what they have to say. I might dismiss it but I will listen
