The only renovation initiated by Obama, that I am aware of, was painting lane lines and 3 point lines on an existing tennis court, plus adding baskets, so that either tennis or basketball could be played. Cost had to be far less than one Trump golf outing

You beat me to it. That Twitter Twit's Tweet seemed dubious on its face and I had just found the same that you found. That dbm's Twitter Twits are feeding him misinformation the vast majority of the time just doesn't phase him. He's still all in on them and believes whatever they tell him. He has no opinions that aren't given to him by his twits. That tweet is a lie. Obama finished an infrastructure upgrade started under Bush which was approved by Congress. Actual renovations of the residence done at Obama’s behest were paid for by the Obamas and didn’t cost anywhere near that amount of money.
In addition, might be time to convert the basketball court back into pickelball courts.
Maybe an indoor hitting bay w launch monitor on the other half.
You're probably right. I'd imagine the basketball court gets little to no use from the current administration. It'd be comic gold watching Trump, JD Vance, Don Jr and Eric try to shoot some hoops though.
Since the presidential underground bunker (aka the Presidential Emergency Operations Center, or PEOC), is rumored to be under the East wing, might the grand ballroom be (at least in part) a ruse to upgrade the PEOC?

Nothing devalues a commercial property more than converting an old tennis court to a basketball court....NOTHING.
Sport court used for soccer...value add.
Digging it up and making it a playground...neutral.
Making it a basketball court... 😬
But Obama didn't convert a tennis court to a basketball court. He added lines and a mobile hoop on wheels so that the space was dual purpose-- it could be used either as a basketball court OR a tennis court. See the different sets of lines?

People are stupid. There's a meme on Facebook circulating with a picture of demolition at the White House and the claim that it was due to Obama's "indoor" basketball court. Problem is it was a black and white picture from 1934 during some renovations while FDR was President and the basketball court was outside and merely lines on the tennis court and mobile goals.
There are literally thousands of people (MAGAs) liking and commenting on those posts in absolute belief that it was taken during Obama's indoor basketball demolition / construction. People don't question anything IF they want to believe it. We may well be doomed.

Yeah...and as expected, within 10 years of the basketball court being added, the property became a haven for the usage of illicit drugs (cocaine), topless transvestites, and whatever the fuck this is...
It SHOULD be paid for by tax dollars.
Why? I’m perfectly fine with private funds being used for White House innovations. It just needs to be completely transparent and normal procedures for renovations of historic buildings needs to be followed. Neither of those two things are really happening.
It opens the door to all kinds of mischief. At best, it's buying influence. In other circumstances, it could be considered a bribe. Most of the "contributions" have come from mega-corps with business before the government and/or who are subject to government oversight/regulation.
I'm old enough to remember the scandal over Nancy Reagan's china. It was a different world back then.
If normal funding is done, then there is Congressional approval and the transparency and proper procedures you cite can be followed.

Good thing Obama didn't go through with his plan to sell the White House then.

trying to be funny or are you just an idiot?
