Trump and his team are trying hard to sell this war to the American people but the messy, mixed messaging isn't helping. Polling suggests that buy-ins are mostly limited to MAGA and American Jews.

This actually seems like a really good opportunity for Trump to end this suddenly, minimize any losses that we have, and claim some semblance of victory.
I think it would present a huge problem for Israel, which they deserve. The question is, what would Iran do? If Iran stops bombing US military bases, but keeps Hormuz closed and continues to bomb Israel, Israel is kind of screwed.

We've degraded their military, but unless and until we get to the uranium (and that can't be done without boots on the ground) and the Strait is reopened (a continued shutdown of the strait will adversely affect the global economy, including ours), a victory declaration would ring hollow. Also, he made a big deal, at the beginning of the war, about regime change and promised to be involved in the selection and installation of a new leader. Sadly, they still have a tyrannical regime (with the same repressive, hateful, disgusting ideology) in place, a million-man military, and enough of an arsenal left to inflict continuing, serious damage throughout the region.
Also, as Boogie pointed out, Trump is looking for $200 billion more for the war. It's costing a billion a day. Not hard to do the math and understand that he's anticipating several more months of active military engagement.

I think it boils down to how much firepower Iran really still has. If not much, then they’re probably happy to stop. If plenty, it would be quite an interesting and perhaps more fair fight, Israel versus Iran.
