You don’t know what the families did or did not say, neither does the Democratic congressman in the article.
Hegseth is the official hype man for this war. To a point it’s comical. I think Colin Jost’s riffs on him have been hysterical. It’s not a good impression, but he captures the frat boy essence really well.
My urging for everybody would be just to shut up and wait. Arm chair generals on this board and in the media talking about the Strait of Hormuz and our number of interceptors is so dumb.

Iran fired off a couple medium range ballistic missiles at a UK/ US joint base all the way in the Indian Ocean. That kind of missile has the capability of hitting essentially all of Europe.
This is a capability we suspected they might have but they denied having.
They do not deal with their weapons programs in good faith.
Without intervention one day we would have woken up with Iran having a nuclear tipped ICBM despite all their protestations to the contrary and all our intelligence gathering efforts.

It's a real shame that we don't know who to believe when the President says we're talking to Iran and when Iran says we're not talking at all. Iran has very little credibility, and sadly, the President doesn't have much either.
