I know 600<700, what’s that make you?😎

Incredibly lame and dishonest. Why do you bother trying to engage with me? It's obvious that you're a mental midget. You're dumb as a post and would have to be a lot smarter just to be stupid.

I don't like to criticize our efforts in a war, but what are we doing and what is our objective?

I am reading a book on the last 10 months of WW2 in Europe. The author makes a point about strategy. Germany would develop great ideas on how to raise 150,000 new men, but absolutely no plan for how to use them in a way that would win the war. There was no, "we form 15 new divisions to attack here and isolate these units... ." It was always just "raise the men and we will win, build a better sub and we will win, fire more V2s and we will win".

That seems to be this war, just drop enough warheads and we will win. How often does airpower, and only airpower, win wars? If it did, would Israel have enemies?

Like Germany, we seem to be fighting a strategic war with tactics.

Oh joy, another round of “Trump hates the dead soldiers”

Progressive shitheads love going back to that well.

He doesn't hate them.  He just doesn't give a shit.

Yesterday he compared his "skirmish" to past wars and was almost bragging about "only" 18 service members' deaths in this war.  That's a slap in the face to the families of the dead soldiers.  They sure as hell don't view it as "only" 18.

Every day and twice on Sundays Trump repeats his mantra of "Iran can never have a nuclear weapon."  Great.  Who would disagree with that.  But what is he DOING about it?  When and how is he going to get to the enriched uranium? He has no fucking clue, and he's utterly full of shit, 24/7.

Several of the families of the fallen have gone on record saying they felt he did "give a shit". He also launched a war, to stop Iran from attaining a nuclear weapon. That's what he's doing about it. Maybe he'll be able to ensure they don't have one for the forseeable future but if not, it'll be incumbent on the next administration to take the baton. Thank him for buying us another 5+ years of a non-nuclear Iran. Show some humility.

You come here and work yourself into a lather everyday about something said the previous day by Trump. Examine your autistic pedantry. You're not a well man. Your brain is completely fucked.

he obliterated their nuclear capability last year.   What is the war about this year then?

I'll thank the moron when he actually accomplishes something (and it's actually true rather than him just lying).  The only thing he has accomplished is closing the strait, causing prices to rise, wasting billions of taxpayer money and killing soldiers.  You can thank him for that but Americans with a brain won't.

...If you’re going to hang around this board for a while, you’d do well to just admit when someone spots a flaw in your argument. Rather than tying yourself into knots to justify your previous position.

Maybe you should take your own advice 😉

@fredom got it. So it makes any conventional kinetic movement against Iran as a response to closing the strait pretty much impossible. Which put another way, allows Iran to exercise more control over the Strait.

If you’re going to hang around this board for a while, you’d do well to just admit when someone spots a flaw in your argument. Rather than tying yourself into knots to justify your previous position.

No, it doesn't. Nuke armed countries still get attacked conventionally.  You aren't understanding what escalation is.

My dude, i was just replying to a post.  I was being cool about it.  We've had exchanges before.  One time you were trying to reference Tolstoy in some dumb argument you were making.  It was like a grade schooler trying to write a dissertation.  I still laugh about it sometimes.  lol

Good thing you edited the first sentence. Well keep the inanity of the original a secret between us 😉.

Falklands, Paki/ China/ India border and terrorism skirmishes, and Ukrainian missiles and drones into Russia. There are your examples of conventional strikes on nuclear powers in the last half century. When spelled out like that it makes the argument you’re making sound incredibly silly.

But for the sake of argument let’s take the only one that is really comparable in the Ukrainian attacks on Russia. According to the fredom school of war “even crazy people understand starting a nuclear war isn’t merely an escalation”.

Putin isn’t crazy. His conventional forces are unimpressive. With American air and naval support we could push Russian forces out of Ukraine all together. Putin understands that being pushed out of Ukrainian territory in a war he started isn’t “worth being evaporated”.

Now that last paragraph I wrote is of course ridiculous. But that’s your shit logic we’re dealing with here not mine.

Bottom line, Iran with a nuke allows them to toll and open and close the Strait at their whim with no realistic option of stopping them. It is something they would use. The power over the Strait isn’t some revelation born of this war as people like yourself would suggest. That’s asinine. It’s being used now as a last ditch attempt to varying success thanks to political hysterics like yourself calling slightly more expensive gas an “absolute disaster”.

Also, you joined the board yesterday… You’re an incarnation of what previous retard? Please describe the context of the Tolstoy reference as well, better yet, link it. That can’t be a name thrown around often on this board, should be easy to find with the search function. It still makes you laugh (a weird lie, you freak) so I’m assuming you remember the context.

The end result is other countries spending billions to develop alternatives to the strait.  But we would be dealing with the high prices and issues until those alternative routes were finished.

@big-ryan you would think with how often you harp on air defense stockpiles you would have done a modicum of research into how the issue is being addressed.

Is it an issue you’re actually interested in outside of wielding it as a club against an administration you hate and a war you disagree with?

Israel, the United States, and Ukraine are leading the world in addressing the air defense unit economics problem. They face an unsustainable asymmetry where multi-million-dollar interceptors target low-cost drones and rockets, prompting major shifts toward directed-energy and low-cost alternatives. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Key Nations and Strategies
  • Israel:
    • Pioneered the Iron Dome system to manage mass short-range threats.
    • Developing the Iron Beam high-energy laser system to achieve a marginal cost-per-shot measured in single digits of dollars. [1]
  • United States:
    • Investing heavily in directed-energy programs like HELIOS to offset the high cost of standard interceptors.
    • Exploring rapid prototyping of low-cost cruise missile analogues and affordable interceptors through initiatives like the LUCAS program. []
  • Ukraine:
    • Forced by intense conflict scaling to manufacture millions of domestic low-cost drones.
    • Partnering with European developers to construct indigenous, affordable cruise missiles and deep-strike alternatives (such as the FP-1 and Flamingo) to bypass reliance on expensive Western stock. [1, 2, 3]

That's pretty funny that, after questioning my research, you respond to my question about what the US is doing to counter the problem with two bullet points generated by AI.

Also, when you have to rely on AI for a response, it's best to include the actual sources and not just the footnote numbers.

Finally, I noticed (in a post just a few up from this one) you continue to use the slur "retard."   What is your problem?  Seriously, what is your condition and are you treating for it?

What is wrong with posting an output from an LLM? Would it be better to post an article no one is going to read and have your entire post be a quote from it? Or reword the LLM output and pass it off as my own?

Your bitching about nonsense extends to how people gather and share information now I suppose.

Instead of sidetracking us on LLM’s your response should have been:

“Your right, this is not a problem unique to the United States, I wasn’t aware of the actions being taken to rectify it”

But you give me horseshit about LLM’s instead. “Retard” is a commonly used insult towards people or actions that are dumb. Or an idea that is dumb.

Refraining from using it doesn’t grant that person some kind of moral high ground except in their own mind.

I’ve got a question for you. At week 10 of a pregnancy a couple discovers their otherwise healthy baby is going to have Down syndrome. They feel they can’t or won’t provide for such a child and decide to terminate the pregnancy. Are you okay with them having that option?

Don’t dodge. Answer the question. Retard

I have a close relative with Down syndrome.  Every time you use the slur "retard," you smear him and everyone else with an intellectual disability. You're a disgrace.   Piss off.

So do I.  I would never use that word towards a person with special needs.  Using it for an internet dumbass is fine in my book & you’ve earned it.  Then again, special needs is a big umbrella…

It is probably because your vocabulary is lacking and you are too ignorant to think of other words to use. 😉

This little "excursion" has now expanded into Yemen, Jordan, and Iraq.

Seeing reports that Bibi is on Trump's shit list.

Could this have gone any worse?

"The lack of clarity on the administration’s goals for the war — whether it’s preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, ensuring the Strait of Hormuz is open or destroying Iran’s missile and drone programs — has made planning an endgame difficult, the US official says.

The military has been preparing for a renewed major offensive without clear guidance, the US official tells NBC News.

“'We have had a series of tactical victories,' the official says. 'But are facing a strategic defeat without clear policy guidance or a decision about where this is going.'”

What if it is collateral prevention of iran's assistance to Russia, without saying that it is preventing iran's assistance to russia?
