Speaking of new impactful coaches, check out this video of the new New Mexico coach. They also rung-up UCLA. Love the classic Chevy Low-Rider in the video. Perfect for Albuquerque. His first stop, The Frontier, best breakfast burrito anywhere.

@co-hoosier one place I’ve never been and want to. My cousin played soccer for them.
Another thing I was wrong about, and I think almost all of us were, NIL. Indiana, Vandy, Texas A&M are all currently in playoff spots. The big boys have been less able to monopolize talent than ever.
@arthur-dent bitch I just wrote that. To you!! A&M isn’t in that group tho
Watching IU football all these years, I thought blowouts were boring. I am man enough to admit I was wrong, for some reason they are a lot of fun.
I remember how crazy and energized the town and campus was in 1967 and nobody was getting blown out. All before cable and social media and ESPN. Can only imagine how crazy it must be now. Harry Gonso, John Isenbarger, Jade Butcher, Eric Stolberg, Terry Cole, Al Gage. . . . .
Now, I can’t watch a game without thinking it’s all going to fall apart. Too many years; too many heartbreaks and disasters. Once we get ahead by about 5 touchdowns I can finally start to breathe again.
I remember the 67 team was called the Kardiac Kids because of the close/late finishes.
@mcm666 where did you write that to me? Oh, some of us were wrong on coach neon Deon. When they are ready, we will hear their confession.

There is a strong possibility he could be Wisconsin's next football coach. He played there as did at least one of his assistant coaches. Said assistant coaches used to be my neighbor a couple years ago.
this might surpass Leicester's PL title.Watching IU football all these years, I thought blowouts were boring. I am man enough to admit I was wrong, for some reason they are a lot of fun.
I can’t think of anything more shocking in sports. It’s unreal
@old-crescent where are you???? You been loving this?!
I heard Dan Patrick interviewing some college football analyst earlier and they both said it was good for IU to pay Cignetti, but a 10 year contract in the era of NIL and the portal is way too long/too much guaranteed money.
I don't know that I agree with this, but they said for ADs to avoid these massive buyouts, they should start front loading coaches contracts. Gone are the days of the rationale of needing 4-5 years to install your 'guys' or 'system.' They thought IU should have front loaded a huge $15 million/year, 3 year contract and renew him as the results warranted.
I wish I could remember who the guy he was talking to was - his basic premise is that these types of shorter contracts are the way of the future as the current model of paying gobs of money for a coach to go away is unsustainable and outdated.
Local radio killin mizzou today. We’re a sec town. It’s just different when you live here in the south

Kangaroo Court?

A good friend will bail you out of jail, but your best friend will be sitting next to you in the cell saying "that was f***ing awesome"

Brian Kelly just got fired. He's owed like 50 million. Franklin is owed like 50. Wasn't Jimbo like 80 or something stupid like that?
TV money and boosters have made college football a whole different animal. I agree, it doesn't take a coach 5 years anymore, but it also depends on the financial backing the coach gets.

Why? Didn't your qb break his leg or something like that (he had to be carted off).
And here we thought the Kangaroo Court could enjoy retirement, with ocean sunsets, Cohibas, refreshing sea breezes and numerous bourbons.
But you just had to go and do it, when even Cignetti gave you the side-eye.
** Sigh **
$10.00
And post your picture of you at the East Wing. IYKYK. (It’s a thing on X.)
Can anyone here play this game?
