Yeah, nobody is allowed to get hurt this year. Cignetti won’t allow it.
Can anyone here play this game?
@arthur-dent Knock wood, but everyone seems to think it was just precautionary.
@aloha-hoosier they were absurdly expensive. The guys who flew in stayed at the intercontinental in Indy and the rest of us Cortez’s. But next time we’d like to stay in Bloomington. House seems the way
Seven IU buddies and I rented a house in Bloomington to play the new Pfau golf course and hang out on a football weekend. It wasn’t a home game though. It was the Saturday IU played UCLA at UCLA. Renting a house would be the way to go and splitting the cost 8 ways shouldn’t be terrible. Probably twice what we paid though but I think it would be fairly reasonable that way.@aloha-hoosier they were absurdly expensive. We watched the game at Nicks and had a great time.
@aloha-hoosier there’s seven of us 👍. Incidentally another buddy of mine from here has a kid at iu. Kelley. He went up to visit and played pfau. Was shocked. Said it was wayyyyy harder than he expected. Great course.
I’m a better than average golfer. Was a single digit handicap at one point. However, that course ate my lunch. It’s great though and I plan to tackle it again. I’m playing better now. Practice does that. 😉@aloha-hoosier there’s seven of us 👍. Incidentally another buddy of mine from here has a kid at iu. Kelley. He went up to visit and played pfau. Was shocked. Good sized crew. You’ll have a good time.
I love this new era of IU football. I remember going to visit my brother at IU in the late 90s and if we wanted to go, tickets to football games were the easiest thing in the world to get. A lot of times, people were giving them away. Most people either stayed at the tailgates or came back to the tailgates at halftime.
My parents gave my brother a framed aerial shot of Assembly Hall and Memorial Stadium and the stadium is full. If you look closely, you can see some tv news trucks from Columbus, Ohio parked near the stadium.
What Cignetti has done turning that battleship around at IU in less than two years is amazing. I’m glad IU is committed to him and he’s committed to IU.
As an aside, if I were an aspiring head college football coach or a coach at a mid-major wanting to make a move up, I’d find time to spend time around Cignetti and his staff to pick their brains to see how they operate.
I know I shouldn't be looking ahead, but we might actually get to 12-0, play in the B1G championship game and have a first round bye with a real chance at the national championship.
I honestly didn't think I'd ever see it, and I'm in my early 40s. The turnaround Cig has done in under 2 years is absolutely amazing.
Treasure each game, because someday, Cig won't be here and we'll have a new era come in.

CCC referred to Q on Star Trek as Junior.
Divorce BEFORE you make any money! Do it quickly, do it often!
Watching IU football all these years, I thought blowouts were boring. I am man enough to admit I was wrong, for some reason they are a lot of fun.
here’s where I was wrong. I HATE nil and the portal. Both gave iu and vandy and the rest a chance

Assuming things hold, that ticket to the Big Ten Championship game will be pricey.
And for what it’s worth, I hope/think Cignetti will build a strong enough foundation over the next decade for future coaches to build on. It’s never guaranteed, but the cupboard won’t be bare for the next coach.
I believe IU will be “good” as long as Cignetti is there. Success begets success. That said, teams like Wisconsin and Purdue have had strong runs of being “good” and they squandered it.
All that to say is that for the first time in a long time IU is building a foundation of success with the football program that other coaches can build on, but there are no guarantees .
Not just Cig. He has an excellent coaching staff and they are very well-paid. Cig’s new deal included more money for his staff pool. It’s a sure bet that Cig’s coordinators will be on the HC radar at the end of the season.

100% agree. We might have the best coaching staff in America, as crazy as that sounds.
As long as Dolson and Whitten are here, so will Cig.
