@larsiu this makes me feel a little better. And reminds me of my favorite ancient Chinese proverb:  you’re never so happy as when your neighbor falls off his roof

Schadenfreude.  I love that there is no equivalent word in English.

Thinking of getting back into the game full time.  Still looking at new clubs.  Last time I played seriously, there was little to no YouTube. Now, golf advice/shows are all over the place.

My favorite guy I've found, Golf Sidekick (he's funny, and his caddy is great, too):

golf....

A guy is on a cruise ship in the Caribbean.

One day, a terrible storm comes along and the ship sank.  He survives and finds himself stranded all alone on a desert island

Ten years pass and one day, he sees a speck in the horizon.

He thinks to himself, “Is it a ship?”

The speck gets a little closer and he thinks, “Is it a boat?”

The speck gets even closer and he thinks, “Is it a raft?”

Then finally, out of the surf he sees a gorgeous young blonde woman, wearing a wet suit and scuba gear. She comes up to the guy and says, “You look like you've been out here awhile, How'd you like a smoke?”

“Yeah, I sure would” he says.

She reaches over and unzips a waterproof pocket on her left sleeve and pulls out a fresh pack of Marlboros.

He takes one, lights it, takes a long drag, and says, “Man, oh man! Is that good!”

Then she asks, “I'll bet you'd like a shot of whiskey to go down with that”

excitedly he replies, “Yeah, would I!!”

She reaches over, unzips the waterproof pocket on her right sleeve, pulls out a bottle of Jack Daniels and gives it to him.

He takes a long swig and says, “Wow, that’s fantastic!”

Then she starts slowly unzipping the long zipper that runs down the front of her wet suit and coyly says to him, “And how long has it been since you played around?”

He shrieks!!!  “WOW!!!! DON'T TELL ME YOU GOT GOLF CLUBS IN THERE!!!!”

Just think though, maybe by then advances in AI and robotics will allow for you to upload yourself into an AI controlled robot before ya keel over.

I vote for a "bout to fuck this lib up" version of you riffing a endless stream of consciousness.

I know if I get the opportunity, I will make sure my version is one that best reflects me ie; one that walks around saying "way to go dumbass" when the ones I leave behind fuck up.

A good friend will bail you out of jail, but your best friend will be sitting next to you in the cell saying "that was f***ing awesome"

@all4you dude I’ve been going down this rabbit hole of podcasts on YouTube about aliens and Interdimensional beings and on and on.  Time. Space. String theory.   The one theory is that we are just shells and that our souls will live on forever with the ability to seamlessly move beyond time and dimensions. I’ve been absolutely haunted by the thought of this not just coming to an end.

Fried perch, French fries, slaw. Lots a salt. An ice cold Coors Banquet. That's heaven.

Fried or sautéd perch is the best.

Older Midwestern drinkers remember when you couldn't buy them east of the Mississippi. So it's a thing for them.

“Maybe the strangest thing about watching "Smokey and the Bandit" so many years on is the catalyst for the whole plot. Two businessmen, Big and Little Enos, make a bet with Bandit to smuggle a truckload of Coors from Texarkana, Texas to Atlanta, Georgia. The characters all insist this is a dangerous, illegal mission — "bootlegging," in their words. Now that you can buy Coors at any gas station in Atlanta — or as far away as Paris if you want it — you may need some reminding just what the big deal was.

The New York Times reports that back in 1977, getting Coors east of the Mississippi really was that big a deal. At the time, Coors was a relatively small operation, only available in 11 western states. And good luck getting it anywhere else — believing pasteurization would destroy their unique flavor, the makers of Coors could only transport their wares short distances without spoiling it.

Management was deliberate in keeping the operation small — the rarity gave their beer an almost mythical mystique in the East, where a case could retail for as much as $15.00 (almost $30 in today's money). But that strategy could only hold out so long, and as Coors became a national brand, Bandit's daring mission started to seem like just another job.”

@boogie Wesley lost his Tour card from not qualifying I believe but is now suspended for attending a LIV event. These events happened several years apart.

I agree with you re fittings. It’s key.

I just looked it up.  We both got it right.

Liv ran the event, which was a youtube thing called the duals.  Not that it matters... I bet he's making way more money doing the online thing then playing pro.

Perch & walleye are wonderful.  I’ll still take bluegill, red ear, crappie over either.  I’ll eat well over 100 of them this year…
