not a great look for NPR. It's even worse in Minny where MPR covers Somalis like they are treated terribly.

@receipt-keeper it would be fitting if Dark Elmo was part of sesame street going forward.

Gotta toughen up those youngsters.

Colbert’s late show cancelled.

Leftist programming taking it on the chin this week!

I admit that I have a soft spot for PBS. Not the NPR, Amanpour & Company and other left leaning content mind you but the apolitical programming. Ken Burns documentaries, content for kids, The Joy of Painting, Antiques Roadshow, This Old House, Nova, Create TV and several other educational and entertaining shows. Of all the things that our tax dollars are wasted on, PBS has to be among the least offensive and least wasteful of the bunch.

Can we not, at least once in a great while, step beyond our ideological comfort zone and keep something worth keeping or do we just continue to stamp out every little thing that runs contrary to it so we can make it look like stuck to our guns? Can we try not to throw out the baby with the bath water when it comes to Public Broadcasting?

A good friend will bail you out of jail, but your best friend will be sitting next to you in the cell saying "that was f***ing awesome"

PBS is where I found my love of duct tape.  Thanks, Red.

Burns will have out the Revolution this fall; hopefully, PBS will survive to air it. His Civil War series is the second-best series in TV history, behind Band of Brothers. His other programs would be fairly far up on any comprehensive list, especially Vietnam.

As much as I think they took dynamite where a scalpel would do, I will give them credit for doing it correctly and voting to claw the money back. Allowing the president to say, you know, eliminate Education without a vote isn't power ever intended for a President. But in this case, they actually did it correctly (largely because they wanted to be on record for their next election).

@all4you concur.  you'd think many of those shows could get picked up elsewhere as they obviously have a strong following

@jdb Katherine Maher has been a disaster. What a terrible hire.
